@EpektasisJohn @TheZeitgeistNZ Oh, just kind of an instinctive thing in some ways, but I resonate much more with old-fashioned leftism than anything much on the right. That said, I do find myself becoming more conservative as I age, and of course the left today is not what it was in the 90s.

Look - if you lure people into negotiations and then murder them (not just once, but a few times) you don’t get to complain about ‘negotiating intransigence.’ It’s grotesque even to speak this way. People backed into a corner will act desperately and that is predictable.

@TheConsultant18 @TheZeitgeistNZ What Iran does is give aid to *rebel groups* such as Hezbollah who are fighting an (irregular) war and hitting military targets. You can think that's justified or not, but it isn't 'terrorism' as most people think of it. And it certainly isn't anywhere near as morally abhorrent.

Islamic terrorism as most Westerners understand it is Sunni groups like al-Qaeda, who come to Western countries and target civilians for murder. This is not what Shia Iran does, and it is wholly disingenuous to conflate the two.

Just in the last several months alone Iran has attacked 20 countries not including their terror attacks on countries like the UK 🇺🇸, Australia 🇦🇺, US 🇺🇸 etc. Between October 2023 & November2024 the Iranian regime has launched 180 attacks on US 🇺🇸 assets.
