It’s good for Biden to dig the spurs into Ukraine’s reform effort. Corruption burdens many of its institutions. But Russia's fans are trying to block aid by portraying Ukraine as fundamentally corrupt top to bottom, which it’s not. We should be careful not to forget nuance.

But where should we strike that would give us the most bang for our ruble? Oh! How about that one district where a few people still have sympathies toward us, you know, just to make sure they aren't dissuaded

Russia: Hmm, there is a tense standoff approaching about the future of military aid to Ukraine. We should capitalize on this somehow. Oh, I know, let's kill 50 civilians with a missile, that'll make those westoids pause for thought.

@KyivIndependent @lapatina_ @IgorKossov It would be great for Ukraine to expand to Crimea. Sure. There’s like 15% Ukrainian population there but maybe Azovs and co can change that right quick. World War anyone to crush Russia so some Ukrainians can expand?

I wish I knew who this journalist in Borodyanka was in April 2022 so I could show 'em the cat coordination. Buy then I picked up my own cat and forgot all about it for like a year and a half.

⚡️Dozens of international firms join Kyiv's new defense industry alliance. President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sept. 30 announced the creation of an international alliance between defense industries. Among other capabilities, the alliance will eventually pave the way for Ukraine to localize production of licensed foreign weapons on Ukrainian soil.

The problem, @stephenWalt, is not that people condemn you; it’s that you *do not listen* to them and just continue repeating the same lines. You’ve already made your “moral case for pursuing peace.” What you haven’t made is your moral case for occupation. Time to do it. 🧵

It's easy to understand why many people sympathize with Ukraine and want to support it against Russia. But the correct moral calculus on this issue is harder to discern, even for those on Kyiv's side. Latest FP column here: foreignpolicy.com/2023/09/22/ukr…

⚡️House speaker drops plan to strip $300 million Ukraine aid package from funding bill. Kevin McCarthy, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, said on Sept. 23 he would support keeping a $300 million aid package for Ukraine in the defense funding bill, walking back a comment he made the day before. The Republican McCarthy had previously said he would take this aid out due to opposition from Republican lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene.

@Carleone0057452 @KyivIndependent Yes, actually. Their names are, let's say Brad and Nigel, respectively. I'm glad they can write, cuz I can barely string a sentence togwther.

@KyivIndependent Thank you for your fart. That adds immensely to the 35 years of Ukraine's toxic contribution to humanity. A contribution that will soon be dissipated by the wind of history.

I like reading pro-Russian quislings struggle to make sense of my articles that are a little more complicated and not entirely flattering to an aspect of Ukraine. They can't understand why a newspaper would run a story that doesn't flatter the country it's in. It's actually sad.
