It’s good for Biden to dig the spurs into Ukraine’s reform effort. Corruption burdens many of its institutions. But Russia's fans are trying to block aid by portraying Ukraine as fundamentally corrupt top to bottom, which it’s not. We should be careful not to forget nuance.

Kevin McCarthy, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, said on Sept. 23 he would support keeping a $300 million aid package for Ukraine in the defense funding bill, walking back a comment he made the day before. The Republican McCarthy had previously said he would take this aid out due to opposition from Republican lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene.

I like reading pro-Russian quislings struggle to make sense of my articles that are a little more complicated and not entirely flattering to an aspect of Ukraine. They can't understand why a newspaper would run a story that doesn't flatter the country it's in. It's actually sad.
