What you aren't getting is that "red" is the default because if you remove the red button, nothing changed. "if you press the blue button, but less than half the population press it, you die. If you don't press the button, nothing happens to you." By pressing the blue button, not only do you create a risk for your own life, but create a moral dilemma for other people where there wasn't one. It's willingly walking into danger and then saying if other people don't risk their life to save you, they're the ones with the problem.

@Anton81191831 Each red player is trying to save themselves from the problem that each other red player created by doing the only thing that created the problem that they're trying to save themselves from. Why privilege red as the default state and treat blue as the changed state?

@mattshumer_ I jumped shipped myself. Chatgpt 5.4 was good and 5.5 is even better. Same monthly cost for the top personal tier.

i'm a few days late to realizing this but: wow, opus 4.7 is god awful like so, so bad it's making mistakes on things i'd expect gpt-4o to handle cleanly there's got to be some explanation, right?

@waitbutwhy Red, obviously, but I think there is a bell curve meme situation where the stupid and evil people press red, the stupid and altruistic people press blue, and a small minority far under 50% of reasonable people presses red I would rather the red people die then the blue

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Stop tweeting for a hot minute and update your Codex App to find full browser use, global dictation, non-dev mode, a new auto-review mode that is much safer than yolo, in-app docs and PDF viewer, and ... GPT-5.5.
OpenAI Developers@OpenAIDevs

With GPT-5.5, Codex now gets more of the job done across the browser, files, docs, and your computer. We've expanded browser use so Codex can interact with web apps, and test flows, click through pages, capture screenshots, and iterate on what it sees until it completes the task.

@kimmonismus I basically cycle between top tier max subs month to month (because I'm not paying 200-300 a month x4) and this month is OpenAI. I could actually see myself not switching this month. Especially with 5.5 coming. I figured I'd switch to gemini ultra around IO. But now? Idk.

I don't understand what's going on at Anthropic. Claude Mythos was accidentally leaked on Discord, and numerous users had access to it. It's the same model that Anthropic claims is too dangerous for public release. The vibe surrounding Claude 4.7 isn't improving; the mood isn't brightening. I (and many others) are using Opus 4.6 instead. On top of that, there's the unreliability of adaptive thinking. They're also restricting the Plus tier without any real communication. I'm baffled. Has Anthropic bitten off more than it can chew? Currently, the biggest winner is OpenAI. Image Gen 2 is a notable success. Codex users have risen to 4 million. GPT-5.5 is on the horizon, and expectations are sky-high. Anthropic's mistakes are OpenAI's success.

This is what I’ve been cooking in the past 4 months . GPT Image 2 is over a massive 240 elo jump over the second place model, marking the biggest jump bigger than the rest of the leaderboard combined
Arena.ai@arena

Exciting news - GPT-Image-2 by @OpenAI has claimed the #1 spot across all Image Arena leaderboards! A clean sweep with a record-breaking +242 point lead in Text-to-Image - the largest gap we’ve seen to date. - #1 Text-to-Image (1512), +242 over #2 (Nano-banana-2 with web-search aka gemini-3.1-flash-image) - #1 Single-Image Edit (1513), +125 over #2 (Nano-banana-pro aka gemini-3-pro-image) - #1 Multi-Image Edit (1464), +90 over #2 (Nano-banana-2) No model has dominated Image Arena with margins this wide. Huge congratulations to @OpenAI on this major breakthrough in image generation! More performance breakdowns by category in the thread below.

@theo Good stuff, made plenty of good points and it all makes sense. OpenAI definitely feels like they have the top spot right now for frontier models.

Claude got dumb. I dug really deep to figure out why. I feel like I became a conspiracy theorist while filming this...

ChatGPT is dying. OpenAI lost the crown as their market share fell below 40 percent for the first time ever. It stands at just 38.7 percent now after four straight months of brutal decline. Six months ago it still ruled with 52 percent but the hype is collapsing fast. The monopoly is finished and users are finally turning to real competition that actually delivers. The era of OpenAI supremacy is over for good

Okay, started using 5.4 pro and I admit, @OpenAI frontier really is that good. I've been sleeping on them for a while but this model... Impressive stuff. Looking forward to what else is in store.

@gdb Just grabbed the pro x20 sub and had 5.4 pro run through something I've been working on with passes from Opus 4.7, grok 4.3 beta (this morning), and Gemini 3.1 pro... it was in a different league. I wasn't expecting the 30+ minutes of thinking but the output was worth the wait.

@JeremyNguyenPhD The more I use it, the more I see the problem is much deeper than adaptive thinking. This model is disregarding the system prompt entirely in conversations.

Does Opus 4.7's release feel different to you? Normally we have to brace ourselves for the hype threads about who just got killed, or a bunch of animations But this time it seems the big thing that obviously affects us is "adaptive thinking", and it's not necessarily good

The mood regarding the Opus 4.7 update has shifted. If I had to guess, I'd say 60% are disappointed with the latest update, while 40% are positive. I'm still undecided myself. Here's a good summary from someone on Reddit. What's your take on it so far?
