The best news in ages. So pleased to see Gordon appointed to the role - the best person for the job.
Given me renewed hope for the future 🙏🏻😍👏🏻

BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer has appointed former PM Gordon Brown as global finance special envoy trib.al/Rx0iR33 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube

@DavidTaylor85 This really is the best news! As you may remember I told you when you were campaigning in Wycombe that I held Gordon Brown in such high regard. (I may have tweeted it several times to) I’m thrilled he’s advising the PM! Well done @Keir_Starmer @cabinetofficeuk @10DowningStreet

@Keir_Starmer @GordonBrown He literally led us into an economical crash are you that spasticated?!?!??!?!
English

Today I’m pleased to appoint @GordonBrown as my Special Envoy on Global Finance and Cooperation.
As Britain’s longest-serving Chancellor, Gordon is well placed to work with our international allies to build a stronger Britain and boost our country’s security and resilience.

English

@Keir_Starmer You’ve had 18 months and done fuck all. The electorate despise Labour, the increased voting for Greens and Lib Dem should speak much louder than the right wing vote.
You are failing. You are making our lives worse. Resign.
English

We must respond to the message that voters have sent us and break with the status quo once and for all.
We must confront the big challenges the public face with real answers.
That is how we will deliver the change that people are desperate for and build a stronger and fairer country.

@Keir_Starmer Our lives aren’t changing, not for the better anyway.
There will be calls for your resignation, again, but you have no backbone so will not concede.
English

These are tough results for Labour. There’s no sugarcoating it. We’ve lost brilliant Labour representatives who’ve stood up for their communities.
People are still frustrated. Their lives aren’t changing fast enough. We haven’t offered enough hope or optimism for the future.
I was elected to change this country - tough days like this don’t weaken my determination to do that. They strengthen it.
English

@Nigel_Farage I know a lot don’t like Farage but at least his statements are about promoting reform and he doesn’t spend the entire video slating other parties like Labour does.
Labour’s political broadcasts are literally just slating other parties and nothing about promotion of values.

@lancelachlan Labour suffered a staggering loss in last years council elections, this year will be equally as bad if not worse for them.
Certainly haven’t regrouped and rebuilt have they?
They’ll do even worse next year. The public are done with Labour & Tories.
English

Even if Labour lost 1,200 council seats, they’d still have around 4,600 councillors across the country. People acting like Labour disappears overnight are living in fantasy politics.
Parties lose local elections, regroup, rebuild and come back fighting stronger. Politics swings. That’s democracy.
English

@Ethan11126479 @GBPolitcs They will pick up quite a few. Assuming those who are left or right leaning stay to the left/right:
Labour votes not wanting Labour or greens will go Lib Dem.
Tory voters not wanting Tory or reform will go Lib Dem.
Loyal Lib Dem voters remain the same.
