What you need to know:
- Hidden Creek Housing Project is the pilot project.
- Next will be the City of Bozeman sponsored Fowler Housing project.
- This is being developed on land that the city had "leftover" after spending millions of dollars on land for the Fowler Avenue Connection Project.
- The Fowler Housing project will be located next to an existing neighborhood.
- The city will be using their own affordable housing ordinance for their own benefit.
- They stack their advisory boards with people who have interest in these projects (conflicts of interest).
The executive director of the Headwaters Community Housing Trust is currently on the Economic Vitality Board, just like HRDC had a seat on the Economic Vitality Board while also receiving grant money from the city.
This is not specific to Bozeman. Land use, zoning, and ordinances are being used across the nation to force a larger agenda under the guise of “affordability,” “anti sprawl”, and “property rights.”
Get involved in local politics and stop your city from becoming progressively worse.

Geez, dude, on a lot of small Montana rivers, boats don’t belong everywhere. Too much pressure wrecks the fishing, tears up spawning beds, and turns a quiet stretch of water into a floating parking lot.
Fly-fishing should include a small river & ought to feel almost sacred: cold water, clean air, trout rising, and a little silence left in the world.
Then somebody like shows up dragging politics into it like a dead carp on a stringer.
And if you really want to “smell politics in action,” spend 36 hours outside the Poverello Center on a Missoula weekend.
That’s not theory. That’s the odor of progressive solutions after they’ve had time to ferment.
