Not a single mention of partners/wives/family or the people who do the silent, hidden labour so that 'you' can be brilliant.

Energy companies made £30 BILLION in profit in a single year — while working people struggle to pay their bills - £500 from every household straight into corporate profits. The system is working exactly as designed, just not for ordinary people.

Since Comic Relief started in 1985, child poverty has increased from 20% to 30%. We don't need charity, we need system change.

Why do rich people always fundraise by asking poorer people to donate to charity? Perhaps if you paid your taxes and paid workers a real living wage there would be less need for charity.

Come to a place and ordered a tea. Am I supposed to drink it out of this thing? I'm so confused.

With manual cameras , manual focus, no motor drive, it was such a challenge to try to capture his dreadlocks. So now I’m in my seventies, I can think of nothing more enjoyable than sharing a photograph, from my archive, and here’s the personal favourite… the great Bob Marley at his one and only gig in Ireland… from my old negatives

I would remind Tory female Politicians (and voters) who are DEMANDING #Churchill remain on the UK bank notes that the man himself DEMANDED that they never got the vote, as it would lead to 'the loss of social structure'. Perhaps he's not the 'British Hero' you think he is, hmm?

@etaknipsa @MissCatnach @ProudlyPastoral Likewise, boys will be experiencing physical changes too. It is important that they understand what their peers and others are experiencing, it leads to misconceptions, ignorance and a lack of empathy well into adulthood. Girls being more advanced is a myth.

@MissCatnach @ProudlyPastoral You split them so they can both feel free to ask questions and express their ideas ..girls especially at this stage mat have started periods and be much more physically advanced than boys..

Y7s told me today that they were split into separate boy/girl groups for puberty lessons in Y6. This should not be happening - it increases stigma, entrenches taboos and fundamentally decreases student access to fundamental knowledge about bodies that underpins so much of RSHE.

Fall in love with your life. Wake up early, buy your favourite coffee, go for walks, eat good food, wear what makes you feel confident, and listen to your favourite music. Purposefully create these small moments that make you fall in love with your life. Happy New Month.

@HeroicMrT @adamboxer1 The thought process needs to explained and modelled, students also need annotate it independently and make notes that make sense to them.

@adamboxer1 The issue comes with when students need to revise this annotation process or revise the annotations themselves - in the case of GCSE Lit. The quality of the annotations needs to be immaculate. So option 2 in your option list of solutions is problematic.

Amy and I got in a pretty feisty discussion about annotating texts in English lessons and where teachers tend to go wrong. Don't miss out, and please share if you can!
Adam Boxer@adamboxer1

Should every removal necessitate a restorative and phone call? Is "annotating a text" a good teaching strategy? Should we give students test results? Why is @amymayforrester's bed broken? All this and more!! Tune in and share if you can 🙏🙏 open.spotify.com/episode/7L27WZ…

Great article here by my mate Charlotte Higgins on why ENJOYMENT is not the only reason for reading. It is also challenging, disturbing, eye-opening, uncomfortable. And why we should include non-fiction as well as fiction in “reading”. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Lots of debate recently about banning phones in schools…. can I suggest a ban on MP’s using phones in the Chamber of the House of Commons. They are elected by the people to represent us in parliament…..not fiddle about doing who knows what on their phones. It’s disrespectful and just wrong.

🚨 NEW: Women work for free for 47 DAYS a year. Women earn £2,548 a year less than men on average. This means women effectively only started earning from yesterday, working for a month and a half for free compared to men.
