Can we just take a minute to appreciate what SBS has done in the first few days of the World Cup… From a broadcast perspective, they’re awesome. Highlights, mini matches, extended highlights, full replays as soon as the match is done. The hosts and panelists have done a great job between matches with informative and interesting discussion, not just ragebait and headlines. And completely free. In terms of a sporting product… jeez, it puts a few other outlets on the hot seat with viewers you’d think

I got 2025 figures from the AFL earlier today. For AFLM, 45% of attendees were women, 52% men and the rest either non-binary or preferred not to say. For AFLW, it was 57% women, 40% men.

Looking beyond the main issue, which is the lack of women in the room, who are most of these people? I recognise swoop. That's it really. People are stating that their large followings are the reason for them being there, but I'm finding that hard to believe.

You could argue that Dave Mundy’s 376 games is a greater achievement than Pendles, Boomer etc because of the amount of travel he had to endure. It’s a lot easier traveling back and forth from the G to Marvel most weeks in a car than getting on a plane every fortnight.
