In our specific case, we don't see big effects (in terms of emissions) as we see rapid RES uptake in all cases, which drives most of the emissions reductions.

@OliverRuhnau @joaoestrangeiro @JohannaSchiele @WiSoUniCologne @ewi_koeln @Hertie_Sustain We're currently working on this, and our results so far suggest that H2 production - regardless of additionality, temporal correlation,.. - does not affect cumulative ETS emissions, even if you consider the MSR. EUA prices are a different story...

@joaoestrangeiro @JohannaSchiele @WiSoUniCologne @ewi_koeln @Hertie_Sustain Yes, as an approximation, the EU ETS means that H2 production does not affect total emissions. They could affect EU ETS prices and MSR cancellation though.

One of the most underappreciated aspects of Europe's energy crisis is the resilience of the EU carbon market. You wouldn't spot a crisis if you didn't know it was there.

@bramcla @MartenOvaere @SamHamels Ik berekende dit een tijd geleden samen met @MartenOvaere. Resultaat kan positief of negatief mbt emissies zijn - er zijn bijzonder veel onzekerheden in dit verhaal. Neemt niet weg dat ETS an zich werkt.

@MathiasB9 Not to rain on your parade, maar afaik: - dateert de invalidatie toch van januari 2023, maar wordt het nu gewoon gemeld in de MSR update - is "invalidated" niet "cancelled" en kunnen de rechten in "noodgevallen" terug geactiveerd worden.
