@TonyElyToffee For 100 years it was a registry office. And chat gpt tells me that of the 12 mosques in liverpool only one existed before in 2010. But hey. let’s pretend liverpool has had a massive Muslim community since the 1500’s. Did you know the Beatles and bob paisley were Muslim. Amazing…

@Krustynail Not every Mosque and especially the early ones have towers or minarets. I have saw lots of photographs as well of a big prayer room. Not a revisionist at all. If you know your history.

@TonyElyToffee That’s what the revisionists say. If you have a look at it you will see that it looks like a registry office and doesn’t look like a mosque in any way shape or form. No domes, no minorettes, no big prayer room. A quite nice Victorian building.

@Krustynail @Krustynail you do realise that the Mosque you refer to was there before any registry office and council offices. It was established by William Henry Quilliam an Englishman who converted to Islam. He built the mosque in 1887 the first mosque in the UK. Abdullah Quilliam Mosque

@Krustynail @KimJohnsonMP Canny farm was full of Irish and Italian families. Huyton was mainily Irish. And don’t get me started on the amount of German/dutch street names.

@workingklassred @KimJohnsonMP Tuebrook, Kensington are very different. And no one from the Chinese of Caribbean community lives there. The mosque on rocky lane used to be the registry office. You can lie to some of the people some of the time, but you can’t lie to all of the people all of the time

@Iromg Sexism and misogyny. You can’t tell whether these masked people are men? These sort of easy assumptions drive division in R communities.

@sharrond62 I’ve got an idea - why not have a sort of non domiciled status - we could call it ‘non-dom’ whereby rich people don’t have their overseas earnings taxed in the uk - bingo

Reeves to tempt rich US expats with lower taxes…. So let’s get this right; after chasing away entrepreneurs, wealthy job makers & successful business owners… she’s now going to offer tax breaks for them to come back ! 🤯 telegraph.co.uk/gift/b6095ddd1…

@ZackPolanski Why when you chose a new name did you choose the name of a very famous film director who is on the run from US authorities for some rather awful things?? Bit like going for Saville or Glitter…..

I'm delighted to back the @readingagency Summer Reading Challenge. This great scheme encourages children to keep reading during the summer holidays. Children across Leeds can sign up for free at local libraries this summer.

We do not need to spend more money on bombs and bullets. We need to spend more on housing, schools and our NHS instead. A roof over your head. Enough food to feed your children. A public health service you can rely on in your time of need. That is what real security means.

@Glinner And they will quickly work out that it works. Insuring an HMO in Belfast is now impossible - landlord covers the losses. So no more HMO’s and I wouldn’t insure one in liverpool, Manchester, Leeds etc etc

@slbsn I’ve seen a report from the Cambridge Institute for Football Statistics which says Burnley would have won champs league 8 times if Everton hadn’t breached PSR. Let’s up the fine to £10bn.

🤓The Burnley v Everton decision is pretty complicated stuff (290 pages inc. attachments!). Was not, in the end, a loss of chance claim but a simple balance of probabilities claim based on detailed statistical work showing that it was considered more likely than not that Everton would have got more than 4 less points had they not breached. Some scope for an appeal on this point I discussed in my article from last year as raised by a reader. Success on this appeal would kill the whole claim. Probably the best Everton can do as causation on points looks firm.
