So #ThePitt just nailed a very real threat. A patient shows up with liver damage. No alcohol abuse, no obvious illness. Cause? High-dose turmeric supplements. “Natural” doesn’t mean harmless. As @adolaskie explains, sometimes it means "deadly."

The only 'street' drug I ever used was Marijuana. I have to Google whippets. I've been drunk in my life. People are different.

Is that what you’re saying mean oral pills, IV, Ayahuasca,iboga,psilocybin…novacaine? Never used whippets as a cook at the end of shift in your 20’s? Nothing at all?

@numb2demnumbers @DavidESmitty @John18Hamilton @type1typea @SpineNeuro @PainSteals Well, I was on opiods for 3 years bc Dr's couldn't figure out why I was in so much pain. I wasn't euphoric. Didn't need to up the dose. After it was resolved thru surgery, I was off all pain meds in 6 weeks.

I’ve never been out of work until right now where they’ve put me on Worksafe after falling off a roof and into a tree lamb where I smashed my L knee looks like they want to double knee replacements now

This is an actual debate happening right now. A group of lawmakers has introduced legislation that would allow recipients to purchase hot rotisserie chickens with their benefits. Currently they are only able to buy cooked rotisserie chickens once they have been cooled down.

I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to practice medicine now.
I’m in love with practicing medicine again. It’s changed everything for me.

@DavidESmitty @John18Hamilton @type1typea @SpineNeuro @PainSteals Same dose 3 years. I was working and driving, so had to measure it. I was only able to work bc of the meds. I'm not working anymore, but I need to be able to function. Constant pain is exhausting.

@LMGeisler @John18Hamilton @type1typea @SpineNeuro @PainSteals Same does 8 years prior to being DUMPED off after moving states in 2022. And that was after I had voluntarily reduced to 90 MME hoping to alleviate some gastro symptoms that turned out to be unrelated.
