Dropping five points in our last two home games is a bitter pill to swallow, we should have been far better in both, we seem to fold when the onus is on to attack, we’ve look almost scared to attack, in both games.

After today this proud 88 year record of having an academy player in every match day squad feels a bit hollow. The 88 year record survived due to academy players being in our team or on the bench on their merit. Absolutely nothing against Jack Fletcher but his inclusion today felt like tokenism to keep the record alive, albeit on life support.

@Cantona_Collars @hockeynewsuk Is Jack Fletcher the only academy player to ever sit on the bench (since more then 1 sub was allowed) that up to that point had never played for the first team? Also, if theres a place free in the squad (which there was) why not fill it?

Judging by your profile pic you are close to my own age... In your lifetime only 1 sub was allowed on the bench. That sub wasn't there for tokenism

@Cantona_Collars @hockeynewsuk I never said it did happen before. However is 88 years and over 4000 games it's likely there have been players involved that did not play and maybe never did actually at any stage play for the first team. You might have facts to prove that wrong though?
