@NukeBoiler Horrible! How did you get up there to see? Thought the roads were all closed... Our place is up at the north end of Empire Grade - don't see how I am going to get up there to find out what (if anything) is left until they reopen Empire Grade, which is likely to be days away.

Some good news: 997 personnel now assigned to battle #CZULightningComplex, per Cal Fire. That’s a significantly increase from the 591 previously listed.

@vigouss My understanding (and I am a pilot, but not a fire fighting pilot), is that the smoke makes visibility so bad that the tankers and/or helicopters cannot a) operate safety in mountainous terrain and b) cannot see to target their loads accurately enough to be useful.
