Italy is restricting who can become Italian changing citizenship rules
“The policy — ‘Right of Blood’ dates back to the founding of the country, and it meant that anyone with Italian ancestors was themselves entitled to Italian citizenship”
“You can only claim citizenship if a parent or grandparent is born in Italy and that relative must not be a dual citizen. Applicants all will also have to demonstrate proficiency in the Italian language. The change was motivated by perceived abuse of the system with the government saying people were getting Italian citizenship as a novelty or for easier travel instead of a genuine interest in the country.”
This should be mandatory in America
