@oebuk @SallySteinborn1 I may do a video soon but am a much better builder than player 🤣 The switch in position 1 is a full Humbucker (series), then parallel and then split coil.
English

@SallySteinborn1 @MCLuthiery Yes, please! I'd love to hear it too. Plus I'm very curious about the switch, since there's only one pickup. Does it split coil?
English

@MulletsDad Position 1 is Regular Humbucker (series), 2 is parallel, and 3 is coil split
English

@tj_fitzpatrick The strings take a few days to settle into tension but this is tuned and intonated with a strobe tuner so it’s exact to pitch/hertz. What you’re hearing is the bad quality sound from an old shitty iPhone microphone.
English

@MCLuthiery That’s really out of tune at :44-:45…does it take time for the strings to settle into the setup?
English

@kendroiddddd Yep exactly that. Saves time and less energy though. My average is 30 mins per set up so In order not to be dead at the end of the day mechanical help is super helpful.
English

@MCLuthiery Is that because of the heat? I didn't smell anything doing by hand with a piece of sandpaper taped to the bench. Went at it for 15 mins straight tried to be as steady as I could. It's hard. I ended up get the high E side about where I want but the low E side too high. Oh well.

For those wondering what a guitar repair technician does all day 😊

@kendroiddddd Bone or graphtech nubone. I use the disk sander and do final passes to square up by hand on the block. The drum shop guys above me hate it. It’s pretty terrible haha 😂
English

@MCLuthiery Stinky? What are your saddles made of?

2 hours in 1 minute! Fretdress, pickup install and setup on a Martin OM #acoustic #luthier #vancouver #guitarrepair

@joe_congdon To polish the frets use #0000 fine steel wool and buff the fretboard/frets like I did in the video. It’s equivalent to 1500 sand paper and will get the shine back in your frets. But again only use this if you have an ebony or rosewood fingerboard not maple
English

@MCLuthiery I used some cheap lemon cleaner once. Nothing bad happened but I would love to give my guitar a good shine.
English

@blokkadeleider Haha I do chromatic scales all day and have become worse as a guitar player the more I build and repair😩
English

@joe_congdon It’s a hydrating conditioner for rosewood and ebony fretboards so they don’t crack as they are unfinished. I used Dunlop Fretboard 65 Ultimate lemon oil. It’s essentially a mineral oil with some lemon scent. Some people used boiled linseed oil but it smells terrible 🤣
