Emergency repairs to the Potomac Interceptor are complete after 55 days of around-the-clock work. Flow has returned to the pipe, bypass pumps are now off, and crews have begun environmental rehabilitation of the C&O Canal. 🔗 dcwater.com/about-dc-water…

You're invited to join a community meeting with @DCWater for updates on the Potomac Interceptor response. Wednesday, March 18, at 6:30 PM at Walt Whitman High School Cafeteria, 7100 Whittier Blvd., Bethesda. They will provide progress updates and gather community feedback.

Today the Potomac Interceptor repairs were completed. Now the long- term recovery and remediation begins. We will be there every step of the way. #PotomacStrong #We❤️OurRiver

The repairs are complete, the canal has been drained and the Potomac Interceptor is once again working as it should. Clean up and remediation efforts will continue for several months.

Testing is now underway to return flow to the Potomac Interceptor.
