It certainly seems like we are heavy playing the “seize Kharg island” bit with an amphibious force. My serious concern despite distance from support, counter battery shit, and general danger if things is this: If i was an Iranian artillery (or whatever the fuck dude) i would realize that Kharg Island has a surface area of roughly 20sq KM. And the minute it is taken by…whatever size force, I would absolutely treat that like I would as an FPF opportunity. You can fill an entire grid square of fire with a US ATACMS. I would bet Iran has enough capability and munitions available to scour that island with fire if need be. Especially if they see this as a last ditch opportunity. So my hope/suggestion or thoughts would be, intel capable of ensuring standoff to Kharg is denied, naval and ground based missile interdiction/ denial assets and/or sophisticated enough early warning to secure and protect ground forces.

The Attrition of Conviction Time. It consumes all doesn’t it? Especially conviction. Over time, rebels become managers. Over time, managers become caretakers. Over time, caretakers become defenders of the very system they once hated. Not because they’re evil, but because the system had time to work on them. That’s how bureaucracies win. They don’t defeat reform outright. They just wait it out. If you want real reform, you don’t just pick the right people. You deny the system the time it needs to change them. This takes a willpower we haven’t seen in generations. Time will tell if we ever see it again. Especially in a military context.

The issue is this guy disagrees with how the law defines a “disability” for VA purposes. Because he disagree with it, he accuses everyone who utilizes the system of committing fraud. He’s too incalcitrant and sophomoric to realize or admit that his issue is with Congress and not veterans.

@LeighWolf I’ll concede there is fraud. Some people do abuse the system. Companies do exist that make a profit from exploiting the system. I offer it’s a small minority. I also offer, when you roll the dice on war put Americas children into the meat grinder you take good and bad of it.

This veteran just posted a screen shot of his retirement pay in response to my criticism of veterans who tell civilians they’re not allowed to have an opinion. We’re doing great everyone, super normal discourse.

@LeighWolf I offer to you sir, we all earned the right to any benefits that we meet the criteria for. I offer, my; our country… took on a debit. If policy makers don’t want to pay for the results of their decisions, perhaps think real hard prior to making the same ones again.

@LeighWolf GWOT veterans: 3.5 million (I’m close) Roughly 1/3 of that are ground combat MOSs Roughly another 1/3 are direct support MOSs (ACE elements) etc. 1/3 cooks, bakers, candlestick makers. 💯 of which answered the call. Is it decent to label them as toxic for questioning you?
