@EmilioLees As an SLT, I usually just ask them… are you mum? then what’s your name? then what shall I call you in clinic? or words to that effect. 9/10 are happy with mum/dad. It’s a personal thing. For me, I love being called mum.

My name is not "Mum". Had my first experience with this today with a health professional and it felt dehumanising. Professionals, plase use the parent/carer's actual name #SEND #disability #autism #NHS #SLT
