@CF_Farrow Public Schools have benefited from a tax exemption for decades. Whilst HMG Ed budget was cut relentlessly. 500k v 10m school age kids. This type of measure is called “leveling up.”

Cranleigh, a Surrey independent school will *only* pass on a 12% VAT raise to parents. They managed to save on the 8% by abolishing all bursaries & free places & stopping free use of facilities to local youth groups, in order to recoup costs of maintenance. Nice one Labour.

Seems as good a day as any to point out that, according to official estimates, UK public sector productivity is lower now than it was when Oasis released Be Here Now (the data doesn't go as far back as Definitely Maybe).

We threw a small pre Christmas soirée Sunday. Over half the people weren’t drinking; either tee total or driving. There’s been a huge shift in the number of my friends stopping drinking for good - mostly health reasons, but I’ve thought a few things since… 🧵

let’s all just have Etonians who read PPE run the country. It works so well. Regardless of politics (this is not pro/anti Cleverly/Tory) Talent & hard-work exist everywhere opportunity does not. So all credit to those to make it in a system design for privately educated elites

Seriously? Our new Home Secretary @JamesCleverly's greatest academic achievement is a Degree in Hospitality from Ealing College of Higher Education?

A final point. The UK and Europe experienced a warm winter. But there has been little evidence of increasing UK energy storage facilities as a result. If 23/24 winter is cold. Then households cd also experience increased energy bills as well.
