My contribution to a very heated debate on abortion in the Lord yesterday: Whatever the lurid headlines say, this does NOT make abortion up to birth legal. But that's no reason to shy away from the morally difficult discussions about time limits. Oh, and 'pills by post' telemedicine means more EARLY abortions. Blaming this new technology for late abortions is counter-productive.

@Artemisfornow They’ve legalised back street abortions. Women will take these pills, many under pressure from partners/family, with no understanding of what bringing on premature labour will be like. Some will bleed to death. What becomes of tiny live baby? Barbarous devaluing of women’s lives.

Explain the difference then. A woman can get a doctors permission to abort or she can do it herself. She can do it up to the day of the birth and it’s legal. She will not be arrested if she kills the baby when in labour. If we go that far, why arrest women if they kill the baby at birth? It is literally a minute in time between her being allowed to kill and not being allowed to kill. Is that the next step for liberal socialism. Mums who kill at birth not investigated since it’s not nice for them if the police investigate?
