On a day where the fans showed up, the players gave us that as a performance. Genuinely no idea what to say on @LastWordOnSpurs. Feels like Tottenham Hotspur needs a complete reset from top to bottom. Just so much wrong, we need an absolute miracle now, if we are to stay up.

This Bodø/Glimt UCL campaign is slowly becoming a top 5 performance from a Nordic club. Considering the financial gap in the modern game and the opponents they've beat, it's truly remarkable what Bodo are doing right.

@SebSB The whole magic / theme of European football is two legged games though. Problem is too many teams get into the knockouts. Send top 16 through to last 16 and then 17-24 plays 9-16 of Europa in playoffs. Then 17-24 in Europa plays 9-16 in the Conference.

I’d make these Champions League playoff games a straight one-game knockout. Give the team from the league with the lower co-efficient home advantage and crank up the jeopardy.

This is a remarkable stat: In the 14 months (!) since December 16, 2024, Tottenham Hotspur have won more matches in European football (12, from 21 games) as they have in the Premier League (11, from 47 games).

@Millar_Colin @zencloud6990 I think people (not just you) struggle to dissociate the Ferguson past with current judgement of the team. United were never amazing, but it was always unlikely they were going to finish behind Brentford, Sunderland, Fulham etc. But they're not winning the league so unacceptable

Manchester United (now 44 points) have eclipsed their Premier League points season tally from last season (42 points) with 13 matches - over a third of the season - still remaining. Impossible to overstate the level of underperformance in the 18 months before Michael Carrick

@Millar_Colin @zencloud6990 You and the media are doing that thing with United again where they're in crisis, then they win four games, and suddenly they're "three signings away" from a title challenge next season. Happened with LVG, Old, Ten Hag, will happen with Carrick, who will be sacked in November.

Meander to a 1-0 deficit, opposition sits back, only reaction is CB's trying to cross into a packed box.

A toss up between failing to attack at home to 10-man Everton and taking off a striker for a midfielder when you're second best at home to the league's 20th side for the lowest moment.

@Millar_Colin UEL final = last season = not what I was talking about. Grimsby was bad but cupsets can happen. Look Man United finished 15th last year, and I've never doubted for a moment they'd get top 6 this year which is probably UCL. People still except United to win the league every year

@MrRandomAFGuy 8 wins of 21 Premier League games, while playing absolutely no other football because he oversaw two of the very worst performances in the club's modern history - Spurs UEL final and Grimsby in the EFL Cup - simply cannot be described as "doing well".

The fact Spurs finished top 4 in the the UCL is a crime.. All of Europe should feel embarrassed...
