@NotTheExperts @evanphillips45 Were they shorthanded when they choked like a dog in the Final Four last year? Scheyer might wind up being great but he’s definitely not yet, and there are way, way more awful internal hires than there are great ones. I still refuse to think you actually believe this take.

@evanphillips45 @NotTheExperts The overwhelming majority of internal hires are not successful and schools are foolish for narrowing their options to only include guys who played there. Hire the best college coach available, regardless of where they attended 15-30 years prior.

@kxfrizzle I agree to a certain extent. It’s a bit more nuanced though. Telling an 18-20 year old to stay off socials is akin to saying “turn off the world.”
The way generations define “staying connected” is rapidly changing.
Also, not every fan is simply calling them out for “standards.”

@betonself @NotTheExperts Being paid doesn't give the fan base a right to be completely toxic. Criticism is one thing, but it moved way beyond that a while ago. Accountability from coaches and people spending the money, not fans who have lost the plot.
