CORRECTION: July temperatures jumped by 15 °C to a stratospheric temperature of -65 °C. July temperatures in the stratosphere over Antarctica are typically around -80 °C (-112 °F). But on July 7, 2024, that number jumped by 15 °C (27 °F), setting a record for the warmest July temperatures observed in the stratosphere in the Antarctic region.
