After 10 years of being involved in crypto I've finally created a website - go look! patcrypt.com I've tried my best to bring together info about the project I love (XX) and there's a bit about me too if you fancy being nosey! Let me know what you think!

Some moments stick with you. Meeting @chaumdotcom at the @SatoshiRoundtbl was one of them. Long before “crypto” was mainstream, before blockchains were dinner-table conversation, before institutions were paying attention — Chaum was already laying the foundations. Back when I first fell down the crypto rabbit hole (2011–2014), I kept running into his name while studying the fundamentals of cryptography and privacy systems. The deeper I went, the more I realized: a lot of what we’re building today traces back to his work. A few highlights from his legacy: • Invented digital cash in the 1980s (eCash) • Introduced blind signatures, enabling private digital payments • Founded DigiCash, one of the first crypto companies • Pioneered research on anonymous communication systems • Anticipated many of today’s privacy and surveillance debates decades early • Laid conceptual groundwork that directly influenced modern blockchain thinking In many ways, he helped answer the question before most people even asked it: “How do we preserve freedom, privacy, and trust in a digital world?” Years later, through my old venture studio (Dedata), I had the chance to organize a conference where David spoke. And eventually, I got to meet him in person. What surprised me most? He was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and generous with his time. Despite having influenced an entire generation of cryptographers and technologists, he carried himself with real humility. I’ve met plenty of public figures over the years — but I was genuinely more starstruck meeting David than most celebrities. Because he represents something rare: Deep technical brilliance, paired with long-term moral clarity. As crypto matures, it’s worth remembering whose shoulders we’re standing on — and why these ideas mattered long before they were profitable. Grateful for the conversation, the history, and the reminder of what this space is really about.

12 years on this platform - the first one was definitely the best. Bring back alt seasons, absurd projects and nobody outside of geekery knowing about crypto. It's been a journey and one I wish had ended a long time ago.

Privacy infra built by a legend – @xx_network David Chaum’s quantum‑resistant L1 with cMixx, xx Messenger, and whistleblower tooling. Big vision for metadata‑private comms. ⚠️ To watch: ‑98% from ATH, tiny active community, no public GitHub, low transparency.

@Satsbuyer @StoriesDotFun @BryceWeiner That isn’t his XTO, it was originally an L1 bitcoin style blockchain of its own, the symbol flipped between TAO and XTO during its lifetime. It eventually ended up as a token on a tomochain EVM clone after a swap. I know because I was there from the start: #bryce" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">patcrypt.com/patcrypt/#bryce

@spacer_lady Congrats on getting over the line on this, I’ve read it and it’s been a great primer for what I’ve seen you contend with in the last year. Well done on your first published work, looking forward to seeing what’s next.

In saying that, to clarify, I would be happy if the entire industry as it stands burned to the ground. It stinks and keeps humanity stuck, with no imagination and an unhealthy fixation on the self. It didn't start like that, but somewhere, it has lost its way.

Confirmation bias is not just rife but embedded into all of crypto now. It's all noise. My hope is that the human spirit latches onto something that comes out of the noise and actually benefits us all, as was the original intention. It'll likely be years but I can't wait.

@Cointelegraph Fast forward 30 years and David Chaum created the xx.network with his mixnet baked in for metadata shredding. We may be too far gone to have a widely used privacy coin but our comms and the threat of quantum computers are equally huge issues he seeks to address here.

⚡️ INSIGHT: Before #Bitcoin there was DigiCash. Founded in 1990 by David Chaum, this cryptographic payment system aimed to provide privacy and security. What would the world look like if DigiCash was the largest digital payment system? 👇

Scott Bessent (US TREASURY) says the IRS uses COBOLT technology, which is "quite poor" and has "a lot of leaks," making privacy a major concern for him. 👁️ 🔴Privacy isn't popular; it's a code-red issue at the wrong time.

@AminCad @ray_noOnes @chaumdotcom @noonesapp "Outlined", calm your boots. It's widely accepted that proof of work was the missing piece and yes these systems hadn't overcome the fact that computationally anything cryptographic in the hands of people was impossible 40+ years ago. There's still foundational work there.

AminCad Ξ🐬🔊 - evm/acc
This is based on Trusted Execution Environments (i.e. Trusted Hardware), instead of digital proof of economic expenditure in an open and decentralized network. It has private computation, instead of a public ledger. It has access control for membership in the authorizing set of computers instead of open participation for any node in the network. So it isn't a blockchain.
