PDM Discuss: Based on the picture posted by PAF today, it confirms that the C-130T Super Hercules Tail No. 5011 is currently undergoing a propeller inspection and possible airframe review. Last year, Tail No. 5011 was seen active in participating in humanitarian operations.

PDM Report: On April 23, Gieram R. Aragones visited the 3rd Marine Brigade in Tiniguiban, where he was received with honors and attended a briefing on operations and readiness, marking a return to a unit where he previously served.

AFP Chief Honors Troops for Successful Operations in Negros Occidental In recognition of operational excellence and decisive action in the fight against insurgency, General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), visited the Visayas Command (VISCOM) in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City on April 24 to personally commend and award troops following the successful neutralization of armed insurgents in Negros Occidental. The recognition was given to personnel of the Visayas Command whose focused combat operations led to the neutralization of 19 members of the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs). The operation also resulted in the recovery of 24 assorted firearms, significantly degrading the operational capability of the CNTs in Northern Negros. During his visit, General Brawner lauded the troops for their professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to the mission. He emphasized that the success of the operation reflects the AFP’s sustained efforts to ensure peace and security while upholding the highest standards of discipline and respect for human rights. The AFP Chief was joined by Lieutenant General Fernando M Reyeg PA, Commander of VISCOM, who expressed his gratitude to the operating units for their dedication, coordination, and decisive actions in accomplishing the mission. The AFP remains steadfast in its mandate to protect the Filipino people, uphold national security, and support long-term peace and development across all regions. The AFP likewise calls on the remaining CNTs to abandon the armed struggle, return to their families, and choose to live peaceful and productive lives as partners in nation-building. PDM Report: BGEN. Brian A. Denaro of the USAF met with Vice Com. Pablo E. Rustria Jr. at Villamor Air Base on April 23, 2026, reaffirming cooperation on space domain awareness, capability development, and interoperability in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

WATCH | Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. underscored the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept as the military’s evolving mission to safeguard Philippine territory across all domains. He stressed that while the focus shifts toward external defense, it does not come at the expense of internal security. The SND noted that since internal threats persist, the AFP remains the primary force legally mandated to address them.
