Tonight the RI General Assembly passed the RI Uniform Parentage Act. This act ensures that RI’s parenting laws are clear, equitable, and provide legal protection for all families, including LGBTQIA+ families.

On this day in 1976, Rhode Island held its first LGBTQ Pride parade in Providence. Although the parade isn’t able to go on as planned this month, I’ve been proud to march in @Pride_RI for many years and look forward to its return.

@steveahlquist RI Pride’s 2020 march is June 20th @ 4:30 marching the same route as the first Pride in 1976. We will start with a rally at Cathedral Square and march to the State House for a second rally. *This event is being held without coordination with the city or police.
