Our next round of new trash and recycling carts will be delivered this coming week to the highlighted routes below! It will take two to three weeks to complete deliveries in these areas, then we’ll move onto the next set of delivery routes. A few tips to keep in mind: 🔵New & Old Carts will be swapped on one of your normal trash collection days. 🔵When it’s your turn, place ALL of your carts out, even if they’re empty, and leave them there until at least 6 p.m. 🔵Swap won’t be simultaneous. 🚔📢 Starting at 3PM tomorrow, Providence Police officers will be driving through neighborhoods using PA systems to remind residents about the parking ban. If you hear an announcement, please move your vehicle to avoid ticketing or towing and help crews clear the streets safely. ❄️

A Citywide parking ban will go into effect at 3PM on Sunday, February 22 until further notice.

#Providence - Heavy machinery in the Wayland Square neighborhood tonight removing snow from Sunday’s storm. The guys we spoke to said they’ve been working since the weekend, sleeping 3 hours a night then getting back to work, trying to get snow off the streets. @wpri12

In the days following the tragic shooting at Brown University, I witnessed the @ProvidenceRIPD, alongside our state and federal partners, work tirelessly and with extraordinary care to bring justice to the victims and their families. Much of this work happened out of public view. These officers and investigators do not seek recognition, but through their vigilance, professionalism and focus during moments when our city is hurting most, they showed us what real heroes look like. I am deeply grateful for their service and could not be prouder of how they showed up for our community when it mattered most.

For the first time we're seeing a glimpse of smiles here at the growing memorial at Brown University. Therapy dogs from police departments as far as CT came in to take a moment to sit with some students and staff who have been stopping by. @wpri12 @sophiaszabotv

Streets marked in green indicate locations where footage confirms the person of interest was present in the hours before the shooting. Streets marked in red indicate locations where footage confirms the person of interest was present immediately after the shooting. The blue zone identifies the area where investigators are seeking property or vehicle camera footage from any time on the day of the shooting.
