Under the CMA enhanced transparency reporting. Opening climate governance to wider participation from all stakeholders, parties, civil society, youth, indigenous people and academia. The adoption of The Addis Ababa Declaration at #ACS2 is a turning point for Africa’s climate journey. It sets out a united African position on the Africa-led solutions such as nature-based solutions, fair climate finance, adaptation and resilience, and just transition, making clear that what Africa needs is not aid, but provision of fair, predictable grant-based climate finance , and scaled-up investment. This Declaration matters because it ensures that climate action is not just about high-level pledges but about real provision of fair finance that matches the ambition and potential climate solution well owned by Africans. It ties Africa’s future to climate justice, renewable energy, nature-based solutions, resilience, and a green economy driven by innovation and inclusion. But how do we make it real? By: -Holding partners accountable for delivering climate finance as grants, not debt. -Building inclusive finance systems that channel resources to grassroots communities. -Carrying this united voice forward to COP30 in Brazil to demand global fairness. The impact is clear: with the Addis Ababa Declaration, Africa has shifted the narrative from vulnerability to leadership. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗖𝗦𝟮 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 The Government of Ethiopia had established a designated ACS2 national organizing committee for the ACS2, having the AUC across all subcommittees to execute and deliver the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) successfully, a summit that concluded with the adoption of the landmark "African Leaders Addis Ababa Declaration on Climate Change and Call for Action". Following a successful conclusion of the ACS2, the leaders shared their views. H.E. Dr. Fitsum Assefa, Minister of Planning and Development and National Designated Coordinator for ACS2, praised the team’s commitment: “The dedication of the team with a clear vision precisely delivers what Ethiopia can do for the continent.” Reflecting on the journey, H.E. Seyoum Mekonen, State Minister of Planning and Development and Chair of the National Organizing Committee, stated: “There were ups and downs in the run to ACS2, but collective effort made it happen, achieving the Summit’s key objective of changing the old narrative of Africa as a victim of climate change.
