@CommanderSZN @1nJvR @MySportsUpdate True but he only played in 14 games and only started 5 of them. He played 376 snaps on defense which is 38% and 168 snaps on special teams which is 45%. Credit where credit is due at least DJ turner started 16 games and played 974 snaps on defense which is 89%.

#Bengals CB DJ Turner was called in before Week 1 last season and told he wouldn’t start... He told HC Zac Taylor: “Bet. I’ll get it back—and when I do, I’m not coming off the field.” Turner went on to get the game-winning INT in Week 1, reclaimed the starting job, and finished as a top-5 CB in the NFL last season. That's awesome. 👏👏

@PurpleWolvy22 @james_tapraise @MySportsUpdate Dude had the most targets, tied for second most receptions allowed. And was third in yards allowed. That wasn't due to the scheme or the play calling either bc he's the only DB in that room who was letting stuff up like that. Also allowed 4 TDs. So no he's not "great".

@CommanderSZN @1nJvR @MySportsUpdate James Pierre posted the lowest completion % allowed (42.9%) and the lowest passer rating allowed (41.4). So at that point he's probably HOF caliber right? Hell no. Despite that he was ranked the #2 overall CB by PFF lol. Dude was only targeted 35 times and only started 5 games.

@PurpleWolvy22 @MySportsUpdate No I'm making the argument he isn't top 5 by saying he himself is not a top 5 corner. Idgaf what defense he played on last year.

@1nJvR @CommanderSZN @MySportsUpdate Statistics are a reliable source. Not some arbitrary grade based off a "compilation of metrics". Dude allowed 4 TDs and he's got the 6th best coverage grade? Yea right.

@TFG_Football 1. Says more about coaches than the player that they learned nothing from Simmons. Just build a scheme for him. The blueprint is out there. 2. Just don't take top heavy tackles in the first round 3. Maybe draft a LT for LT and a RT for RT 4. He absolutely is lol

Something I've seen a lot of this Draft cycle is fans not liking the idea of certain picks because it reminds them of previous guys who've failed... - Cardinals afraid of Arvell Reese being a Hyrbid - Giants afraid of another Evan Neal situation taking OL high - Browns afraid of the Wills experience of moving a RT to LT - Steelers afraid Ty Simpson is Kenny Pickett 2.0 Etc etc... Every player is his own story. Guys fail for different reasons and often times there was no reason other than the fact that your team took the wrong guy. I encourage those with this sentiment to be a little more open minded if a pick reminds you of a certain failed pick, and ask "does the process make sense for my team today?"

Ok, so the refs want: 1. Ludicrous raises instead of merely awesome raises 2. No accountability for bad performance 3. Get playoff assignments for being old I'm having a really hard time not siding with the league on this one.

@RavensTalkPod @coolsportskid Casual ass take. 2023 he was on pace to have 800+ yards before his leg was broken by a now illegal tackle then had a car accident in offszn. 2024 he had 11 TDs and his best season for catch % (2nd is 2023). Last year was a down year for pretty much every player on the offense.

We asked Chase Coburn (@coolsportskid) for his thoughts on the free agency period for the Baltimore Ravens and he was BRUTALLY honest on their biggest blunder. Mark Andrews…

bad teams should be able to get good players through the draft! stop trying to fix something that doesn't need to be fixed to systematically prop up big markets
