There’s a lot to like about Jason Ludwig. Santa Clara is known for finding gems and cultivating NBA talent. Most notably, Jalen Williams. Ludwig had a key role in his recruitment. Few coaches better to learn from than Sendek. Ludwig has been on his staff for the past 10 seasons.

🚨BREAKING: Per official sources, St. Bonaventure has interviewed at least 15 candidates for its open MBB head coaching position. I’ve been told 12 formal interviews have been completed and least a half dozen informal. More formal talks are scheduled for the coming days.

Every time I watch the first four, I think of Courtney Stockard and his clutch performance vs UCLA (2018). He put the team on his back. 26 points 4 boards 4 steals. One of the coolest customers to wear a Bonnies uniform.

Some guys play so hard that you simply can’t keep them off the floor. That’s why Cayden started all 34 games. No matter the situation or score, he always gave maximum effort. I don’t think i’ve seen a player hit the deck more than him. His mentality will get him far in life.

Bobby Hurley’s name being mentioned is a bit of a surprise/plot twist. Personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I was always impressed with the job he did at UB. There’s also the connection with Woj. He’d have to put his ego to the side and really embrace the community.

we could see Bobby Hurley being offered Bonnies. Adrian Woj wrote the book, "The Miracle of St. Anthony's.'' plus the guy was highly successful at nearby Buffalo and has name recognition nationally.

The good news about the coaching search? This is a much more attractive job than it was back in 2007. Schmidt proved that you can win here and do it for a long time. I hope the next coach can plant roots here and keep the Bonnies relevant. Whoever it may be. 🙏

Moore is currently the head coach at West Georgia. He’s enjoyed a lot of success there and they recently made the jump to D1. The Schmidt coaching tree is underrated and Moore is one example. He has the passion and personality necessary for the job.

I realize David Vanterpool might be shooting for the moon, so here’s a more realistic idea. Dave Moore. He would be a great fit on and off the court. Same principles as Schmidt. He was directly responsible for a lot of the player improvement in his time here as an assistant.

Fair or not, Woj has been under siege for the past week. If he wants to get back in Bonnies fans good graces, he needs to hit a home run with this hire. I think all will be forgotten/forgiven if he brings Vanterpool home. He’s at the top of my shortlist of Schmidt replacements.
