Instead of using the tools available to get people who are clearly mentally incapable of surviving on the streets into care during freezing weather, a nonprofit is handing out blankets with Mamdani’s name on them, as a form of protest. No gloves. No hats. No real intervention. Just a blanket and Mamdani parading around in cute embroidered jackets with his name stitched on during propaganda pressers. Think about that. He’s effectively telling people: you can stay on the street and die. That’s not compassion. In Queens, Brooklyn, and the outer boroughs, people are shoved onto old yellow school buses where the heat barely works and they’re handed cold food. That’s the level of dignity this administration thinks vulnerable people deserve. Two systems. Two standards. The blanket itself says it all. It’s not a pathway to safety. It’s an encouragement to remain on the street. And honestly, nothing better symbolizes the Mamdani homeless crisis than these dull, Soviet-colored blankets stamped with his name. It’s the dumbest, most cynical marketing imaginable. Mamdani is completely over his head. And it wouldn’t even be worth commenting on if people weren’t literally dying on his watch. When your only answer to a life-or-death crisis is a jacket with your name on it, you’ve failed. Period.

The parents of Alex Pretti say their son quit his hospital job months ago and had shown “unusual behavior” recently. “He seemed to have joined some kind of group. We warned him two weeks ago — protest if you want, but don’t engage, don’t do anything stupid,” his father, Michael Pretti, told reporters. “He said he understood.” But it wasn’t until police pulled messages from Alex’s phone that the truth began to emerge — and what investigators found. It seems that Pretti's parents didn't want him participating. It seems Pretti allegedly scrubbed his social media presence one day prior to his actions leading to his death. When you make decisions based on emotions, you make poor decisions. He made bad decisions. I’m a 2A absolutist. You have a right to carry, not a privilege. But rights come with restrictions, you need your ID & permit on you. Reports say Pretti had neither. He wasn’t carrying legally.
