$200 billion. That’s more than the annual budget for the VA. That’s more than the Dept of Ed, Dept of Ag, and Dept of Transportation (all national infrastructure projects), COMBINED. All for a war that didn’t exist 3 weeks, and after DoD gets almost $1 trillion a year.

this is random, but how can an acrylic paint brand claim that none of their products contain microplastics? isn't acrylic paint basically liquid plastic?

The Scottish assisted suicide bill is defeated! 57 to 69. This is a great day for human dignity in Scotland but also everywhere in the world.

Imagine thinking that Trump and his administration deserve to be called pro-life at this point. Not only have they maintained Biden’s pro-abortion policies, but they are actively blocking pro-life states from regulating abortion.

bonus: I got to work on the background a bit before the ceremony (did the rest live during the reception), and the choir was rehearsing at the same time 🎶

Even if you support the death penalty, the case of Charles “Sonny” Burton in Alabama should trouble you. This is why Gov. Kay Ivey should issue a stay of the scheduled March 12th execution. Here are the facts: • Burton committed a robbery in 1991 with an accomplice, Derrick DeBruce. During the crime, DeBruce shot and killed Doug Battle. • Testimony shows Burton was outside the store when the shot was fired. • DeBruce pulled the trigger and his death sentence was later reduced to life in prison and later died in custody. • Burton is now 75 years old and wheelchair-bound. • Religious leaders, a juror from the trial, and the victim’s own daughter have asked Gov. Ivey to grant clemency. Let me be clear: A man died. That was evil. But executing someone who didn’t pull the trigger, didn’t witness the shooting, and whose accomplice received a lighter sentence does not seem like it’s the only form of justice that can be enacted. That’s arbitrariness. Justice should be firm but also fair. More details here: charlessonnyburton.com

This is great: Catholic artist Daniel Mitsui writes in his latest newsletter: "According to legend, Albertus Magnus had spent thirty years devising an oracular head, a mechanical device that could answer questions posed to it. Thomas Aquinas smashed it to pieces. Different versions of the story say that this was out of annoyance, or of fright; I prefer to think that St. Thomas had prophetic insight into the evils such devices could and would cause. While I generally avoid putting my religious drawings on everyday merchandise, I thought that this small scene was timely and appropriate and humorous enough to make an exception:" More at his website, link in comment.
