@onthisGTFCday Lots to pick through here but the most upsetting is discovering that Bobby Roberts, who I always had in my head as looking at least 75, was actually several years younger than I am now.

7th May 1988 - Marc North scores but then misses a penalty as Grimsby draw 1-1 with Aldershot and are relegated for the second season in succession into Division Four #GTFC Sherwood, Dixon, Agnew, Cunnington, Burgess, Jobling, Robinson, Saunders, North, O'Riordan, McDermott

5th March 1991 - Fabulous footage as Tony Ford and Nigel Batch return to Blundell Park to appear in a benefit game for long standing Grimsby Town physio John Fraser. Fordy slots straight into Alan Buckley's team of 1990/91 that beats Sheffield United 2-0. #GTFC #twitterblades

This was Alan Buckley's team with him in charge for well over a year at this stage. It's a fantastic line-up with proper legends throughout. Any team can have a bad run at any time, even the best. #gtfc

November 1989 and Town lose again at home without having a shot on goal. Even the Telegraph is calling them "clueless" having taken just 4 points from a possible 30. They would end the season promoted. #gtfc

Random Goalkeeper Fact of the Day (130): Grimsby Town's Nigel Batch reputedly wore three jerseys when he was playing, whatever the weather. The keeper confessed that he hated feeling cold, especially when playing, and wore extra layers as a result to stay focused on match day.
