What I find so ironic about all the post here blaming the orange man for collapsing tourism, is that they all are missing the fact that the charts started tanking in early 2024 and the downtrend continued into 2025.  In early 2024 there was little expectation that Trump would even survive the lawfare intact much less become president.   Maybe the import of western hemisphere criminals was not so good or just an old fashion down cycle?  Let's see charts of Europe and Canadian tourism for the same period?  Why do I think they would show the same downturn.

Foreign tourism has fallen off a cliff. This is a $100B domestic industry largely concentrated in NYC, southern Florida, southern California, and Las Vegas. Hotels, airlines, restaurants, and tour guides are already feeling the pain.

Hi @DOGE I'm a member of parliament in Australia's largest state. I've just attended a briefing from the 'United States Study Centre' (@USSC ) which is a think tank based at the University of Sydney. The briefing was endlessly anti-Trump. It felt like I was stuck in a room and forced to watch MSNBC. The presenter concluded by apologising to Australians on behalf of Americans because of the Trump Administration. A quick AI search indicates the @USSC receives funding from US taxpayers (and Lockheed Martin of course). If true I hereby request it be DOGEd.

Federal Judiciary #4: Chief Justice John Roberts is in the process of demolishing the legitimacy of the federal judicial branch. A decade ago, he supposedly reversed his view on declaring Obamacare to be unconstitutional because the Democrats and leftwing media were warning that such a decision would destabilize the Court’s legitimacy. And he bought that (or else it was the horse’s head in his bed….one or the other). Now, by his and ACB’s recent fecklessness in not slapping down the nonsense from the lower courts regarding Pres Trump’s proper exercise of executive responsibility and authority, CJ Roberts and ACB have thrown gasoline on the fire of the lawless, leftist judges presuming to act as President. So the very thing Roberts apparently used as the reason for the abominable Obamacare decision - the legitimacy of the Court- is now seriously jeopardized. And it is HIS doing. And that statement from Roberts yesterday re “you must not talk impeachment because appellate courts are the answer….” would ring a bit more authentic had he and ACB upheld the rule of law in the last month when that issue was before them. SCOTUS IS the appellate court that SHOULD have shut this down. So why didn’t he? Why didn’t ACB? Everything we are watching unfold with these unconstitutional national injunctions usurping the President’s constitutional powers is BECAUSE CJ Roberts and ACB did NOT do their jobs a month ago. So perhaps it might be time for the Chief Justice to exercise his APPELLATE responsibility to preserve the legitimacy of the entire federal judiciary before these lawless lower court judges drunk with powers not conferred on them by the Constitution bring down the entire constitutional framework. In other words, John Roberts has proven that the ONLY way to maintain and protect the legitimacy of the courts is for judges to abide by and act solely within the confines of the Constitution. Today, the first 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua, arrived in our country. The left is not concerned about the sustainability of overspending. It is their goal to bankrupt the country and our businesses in order to reset to the glorious Marxist/socialist paradigm. They relished in the covid shutdowns which here in central PA caused about 40% of our small businesses to fail.

In the private sector, people do not attempt to destroy someone’s livelihood for holding different political views. Only in government, and only from one side, do we see this kind of targeted economic punishment. This is not about “consequences.” It is an attempt to enforce ideological conformity through fear. A faction on the left insists that "everything is political"—and by that logic, they believe it is fair to destroy someone’s business simply because of their personal beliefs. But this is not a neutral tactic. A 2024 survey by BizBuySell found that only 22% of small business owners support Kamala Harris, while 54% support Donald Trump. Statistically, any campaign to boycott or undermine small businesses will disproportionately harm one side. This is not about principle—it is targeted political warfare. As for the DOGE budget cuts—this outrage is entirely misplaced. These cuts will have minimal impact on the vast majority of Americans. Layoffs and restructuring are a normal part of the private sector. Companies adjust to financial realities all the time. What DOGE is doing doesn’t come close to a typical corporate layoff. This is not cruelty—it is fiscal responsibility. The government has been overspending, and course correction is necessary. I do not speak out because I expect immunity from consequences. I speak out because this trend is malicious, unethical, and fundamentally wrong. Simple as that.
