While going through old chats I came across a video I took of my partially paralyzed hand. It was 2020, the height of COVID. A physiotherapist injured a nerve in my hand through shockwave therapy. Doctors weren't sure it would ever fully recover. I was at the peak of my net worth yet the most miserable I'd ever been. Boxing, Aikido, gaming, all my outlets taken away, stuck in lockdown with a hand that wouldn't work. Depression hit hard. It took two years of slow rehab and therapy before I regained function. That experience shifted my priorities and mindset significantly. Who matters. What matters. I'm deeply grateful to my wife, family and friends who helped me through it. Today my hand is mostly fine. I still remember the joy I felt when my thumb started moving enough for me to play Hades on the Switch. No concert pianist career for me, but good enough to do my hobbies and play games again without thinking twice about it. Sometimes you need a reminder of where you were to appreciate where you are.

Meanwhile the government is buying your location data, browsing history, and purchase records from data brokers without a warrant, and AI can now assemble all of it into a complete picture of your life automatically. This is the part people miss. It's not just that one company tracks you. It's that AI can now combine ALL the data from ALL the brokers into a surveillance profile that no human could ever build manually. And there's no law stopping it.
