It’s ok sir, the democrats of your youth don’t exist anymore- they are extinct. Same for the republicans- nationally and locally. You’re a biblical centered man as am I. The world around us has changed so drastically, so quickly that it is impossible to comprehend let alone keep up. Follow your heart, listen for God’s voice- keep the neighborhoods safe!

This morning, I was called a fake preacher in an X post I made yesterday because I won't criticize the current president. I wasn't invited back on a national TV network after refusing to criticize Democrats on air. I also experienced that locally when I refused to criticize Mayor Hogsett publicly. I have good friends who are Democrats and Republicans, and I work with members of both parties at the Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition. As a moderate Democrat, I have criticized my party's shift to the far left, which no longer aligns with my views and political stance. My criticism has been based on policy differences, and not on individuals. I am trying to be a better Christian and avoid getting caught up in the poisonous, hateful rhetoric of today’s politics. As Christians, we cannot compromise our faith to please others. We are called to be in the world, but not of the world. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live by a different standard, rooted and grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Joshua said it best: "As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." If this makes me a fake preacher, then I'm guilty.

The Shroud of Turin is the single most fascinating and perplexing artifact ever discovered baffling scientists, historians and believers for centuries. Scientific analysis confirms the body image was not formed by paint, dye, ink, pigments or any artistic medium….no brush strokes, no directionality, no binders. The coloration results from a precise chemical alteration of the linen fibers themselves. The image is extraordinarily superficial, affecting only the topmost microfibrils of the threads… we’re talking about a depth of a few hundred “nanometers”. To put that in perspective a single human hair is 80,000 nanometers thick….the image on the Shroud is thinner than a soap bubble. The image resides solely on the outermost surface layer with no penetration into the cloth as would occur with liquids or pigments. This superficiality combined with the images lack of distortion, its photographic negative quality and its embedded 3D information points to a rapid intense burst of energy….most plausibly in the form of vacuum ultraviolet radiation or similar electromagnetic phenomena. Italian researchers at ENEA have shown that replicating even key aspects of the image requires an immense flash of energy. Estimates range from billions to as high as 34 trillion watts delivered in an incredibly brief pulse…..on the order of 1/40th of a billionth of a second. Any slower or less controlled release would scorch or incinerate the delicate linen instead of delicately discoloring it. No known natural process or current human technology can fully account for such a precise, non-destructive encoding of a full-body image originating from within the wrapped form. What kind of event could generate a sudden intense burst of radiant energy from a lifeless body…..without causing heat damage, scorching or any detectable residue…..while imprinting the cloth in this extraordinary way? The only logical explanation that unites the forensic evidence—wounds precisely matching Roman scourging, crucifixion (wrist and foot nailing) a side spear wound and a crown of thorns….with this otherwise inexplicable image formation process is the Resurrection itself. At the moment Christ rose a divine burst of light…..the radiant glory of His glorified body (brighter than the sun) imprinted the cloth as He passed thru the linen leaving a photographic negative that has baffled science for over two millennia. In layman terms, the Shroud of Turin is quite possibly the first selfie ever taken capturing the moment of resurrection in real time. #JesusIsKing #JesusIsLord

The Easter Message in U2’s “Scars” — by Ken M. Penner In Bono’s imaginative world, faith often begins as the quiet hum of a Dublin choir or the polite Jesus of the Sunday school wall charts. It is the Jesus who stands at the door and knocks, waiting for the believer to turn the brass handle (Revelation 3:20). But as one lives a little longer, gathering the “scar tissue” of human struggle and sitting in the harsh, fluorescent glare of hospital waiting rooms, the realization dawns that grace isn’t always polite. Sometimes history stops knocking and starts using a boot. Sometimes the doors of the heart have to be kicked open. “Scars” is a lyric that feels written with the police report of Good Friday still warm in the hands. Bono’s work pushes back against sanitizing the cross, reminding the listener that it was a brutal state execution. The song plunges into the roar of the townhall demanding a scapegoat (Matthew 27), the cynical suits making laws out of lies, and the cold, terrifying steel of the “nails of the state.” One cannot sing about this Passion without tasting the sour vinegar on the sponge (John 19). The lyric wants the listener to feel the absolute physical wreckage of it. When the song shifts and asks, “Put your hand in my side,” it evokes Thomas in the upper room (John 20), yes, but it is also a demand to touch the very real, bleeding contours of the marginalized today. The loser. The least (Matthew 25). That is where the divine hides. And the wildest twist of the narrative—the paradox Isaiah saw centuries before when he wrote that “with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53)—is that the trauma isn’t erased on Easter morning. The wounds remain. The scars are what give true beauty; they are the proof of love’s stubborn persistence. Bono’s writing has long been drawn to the strange fact that when the resurrected Christ steps out of the blackest night into the blue dawn, his own friends don’t even recognize him. Mary thinks he’s the gardener in the dirt (John 20); the disciples on the road to Emmaus think he’s just a stranger talking too much (Luke 24). It is the terrifying and beautiful promise of “Scars”: You won’t know who I am the next time we meet. But the divine knows exactly who the believer is, bruises, scars, and all. ________________________________________________ Dr. Ken M. I've lived and worked around the world and it's those very limited people here in Indy who think that their experience going to Paris or New York once or twice + listening to NPR makes them sophisticated enough to be condescending about Indy who absolutely drive me crazy.

Titled ‘U2 - Propaganda - Easter Lily’, this magazine features contributions from the four band members including sleeve notes from The Edge; Adam Clayton on art and the journey of recovery; a conversation between Bono and Franciscan friar Richard Rohr; and in-the-studio photographs shot by Larry Mullen Jr.  Forty years ago, in February 1986, the first issue of Propaganda dropped through the letterboxes of U2 fans around the world.
