BOMBSHELL MOTION FILED – AUSTIN DA JOSE GARZA CAUGHT IN 3-YEAR COVER-UP Travis County DA’s office secretly planned to INDICT THE CITY OF AUSTIN for APD’s actions during the 2020 riots…then hid the entire scheme when they botched the statute of limitations.   Instead of disclosing this explosive exculpatory evidence to indicted Officer Chance Bretches (and the public), they buried it – while prosecuting junior line officers who followed orders and used the defective bean bag rounds issued by the city. Evidence of an un-indicted co-defendant or an alternative suspect is always required to be disclosed to the Defense and ensures a fair trial. Sworn affidavits from former Assistant City Manager Bruce Mills and ex-Council Member Mackenzie Kelly prove it: multiple secret meetings with Garza himself, negotiations to make the City “take accountability” in exchange for dropping cop charges, then total radio silence to the defense. This isn’t a mistake. It’s deliberate. It violates Brady, the Michael Morton Act, the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, the Disciplinary Rules, and the Court’s own orders.  Our motion demands DISMISSAL WITH PREJUDICE – and lays out the DA’s patter of misconduct towards law enforcement (sanctions in other cop cases + witness tampering allegations included).    No other remedy protects the defendant’s rights. Save Austin Now @SaveAustinNow Central Austin people looking for a drop-off location for signed petitions may want to avoid the Pushnami location at 6600 N Lamar. They are listed on the saveaustinnow website as a drop-off location with hours from 9-5. I went earlier today around 2pm and the doors were locked and nobody answered when I knocked. I tried inquiring at the shop next to them, but they were locked as well. After 10 minutes or so, an employee did drive up right as I was about to leave. He was perfectly courteous and friendly, but he said something about it possibly not being the right hours to be open for receiving petitions, and it was something his boss had set up. So he seemed unaware of what it was about. Anyway, he showed me to a folding table where there was a petition pad for signatures, and I left the one I brought there. Save Austin Now people: I'm posting this to possibly save trouble for others looking for an open location to drop off their petitions in a timely manner. Pushnami may not be the best bet for this, if they're locked part of the day. I know it's in the critical last couple of days to get signatures in, so this is intended to help others in that spirit of getting petitions dropped off in time. Another location may be more optimal. By the way, Save Austin Now people, I requested a petition be mailed to me through your website a couple of weeks ago. For whatever reason, I never received it in the mail.
