Patrick - Homosexuality is very clearly a sin in the Bible. Jesus is not ok with sin. Jesus said to the woman at the well who was sexually immoral to "go and sin no more." He does LOVE all people and would certainly encourage people to be kind to one another but at the same time I truly believe he wouldn't think letting someone continue in sin without saying something was very kind at all. This idea that he was someone who was fine with people just living how they wanted to live is simply not accurate. He was crucified for his direct and bold words and he wasn't afraid to stir things up; he was gentle but also aggressive (flipping over tables in the temple).

THIS IS FRAUDULENT I’d have no issue w/ players wearing Bible verses if they did it regularly & not just on Pride Night Why do these players have no issue w/ teammates homosexualized celebrations bumping crotches or thrusting crotches at each others faces while kneeling but rainbow hat is a bridge too far? This is attention seeking and posturing. Jesus said LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF He did not make exceptions Live life as you choose Coexist and accept others The Lord will sort us all out on Judgment Day It is HIS place to judge, not ours. Having hate in your heart for others because they don’t live/believe as you will not get you into His Kingdom.

You are clueless...literally type his name in the Explore button on the top left. There are literally THOUSANDS of posts about it, none very nice. You obviously don't want the truth and want your opinion to be a fact...but it isn't. He has gotten so much ridicule is insane. Take your blinders off. Again, use the explore button on the left and see for yourself. Even the first two things that came up on Google (see below) aren't flattering. A rainbow dildo and an article about him making a BOLD statement by just wearing the regular uniform. You can't just wear the uniform and go about your day...it's just as much of BOLD statement as putting a tiny verse on the hat.

@Senor_Chickles @maklelan I googled which athletes choose to wear regular caps and found nothing singling them out. After your response, I did google Blake Treinen and found 1 reddit post critical of him and 1 instragram post, but it was supporting him. You have a very low threshold for destroyed.

These folks have been told over & over again that MLB absolutely did not force anyone to wear these caps & that they all chose to do so even though they had the option to wear a regular cap. The desire to feel persecuted overrules their concern for the truth, of course.
Kentucky Girl@Notwokenow

Looks to me like the @MLB is more interested in bending over for the LGBTQ mob than respecting the rights of American Christians. Interesting choice to make.

You don't understand the Bible and that is ok. Jesus says to love thy neighbor. He also flips over tables when sin is occurring in the temple. He also says, go and sin no more. The verse on the hat wasn't hateful at all. They wore the Pride hat but it's never enough for many folks. Wear our logo, shut your mouth, otherwise your a bigot. Wear the normal hat, go about your business, your still a bigot. We are going to roast you either way. Oh by the way, we are the tolerant people and y'all are the intolerant ones....except if you don't believe exactly what we believe and behave exactly how we think you you should. Then we will go on social media and call you mean names. It's literally the opposite of tolerance.

The verse has nothing to do with hate. You posting this is far more hateful than a guy writing a non-hateful Bible verse on a hat. You literally can the guy a name in your post. He is doing nothing that is impacting anyone's ability to live and enjoy a baseball game. Sorry that not everyone agrees with that lifestyle. But you should really think about what tolerance means a little more since that's supposedly what this is about. Because what you are doing ain't it.

Whatever you think of this story, they actually weren't forced to wear rainbows on their hats, they had the option of just wearing the normal hats. Seems like a lot of folks on the Right have basic facts about this story wrong.
The Redheaded libertarian@TRHLofficial

The ball players were forced to wear rainbows on their hats for the gay month, so they added Genesis 9:12-16, which includes, “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth’.”

No one forced the Major League Baseball players to *wear* ball caps with rainbow colors. They could have just worn their standard hat, if they wanted. They chose to wear Pride hats and write Bible verses on them. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/m…

Search Blake Treinen and Sam Hentges on here, Google, or anywhere else. They have been destroyed and it doesn't take long to find it if you are truly interested in it. Why are you offended by a tiny Bible verse that is in no way hateful? Is it fair that the guys who didn't wear the hat are getting so much hate online? The LGBTQ people are preaching tolerance and yet seem to be more intolerant than anyone. They want you to be inclusive....just as long as you agree with them and if not, even if you are very kind to them, you are still called a bigot. It's exhausting.

@Senor_Chickles @maklelan Have they? I haven't seen one thing about a player who choose to wear a regular hat. The only thing I've seen is "Christians" playing the victim for 3 players being told to follow the same rules as everyone else.

What else could offend them? The breast cancer awareness hat on Mother's Day? Living a homosexual lifestyle is a sin in the Bible...it's not hard to find that. If you don't think so, then you can handle that with the Lord one day, who is the author of gender and marriage. To wear the Pride hat flippantly is to affirm it IMO. I don't think these players hate the LGBTQ community...I just don't think they want to wear the gear and logo at their place of work. I appreciate the dialogue. Obviously we aren't going to agree but I've enjoyed hearing your perspective and wish you well!

@Senor_Chickles @armstrongtimes You have no idea if they are asked to wear something else that offends them, its just if they are, they are somehow able to do so. Its easy to do that against the gay community because its low hanging fruit. That's why its performative. They do not have a monopoly on Christianity

If MLB players want to wear Bible verses on their uniforms then do it all year round. Don't just show your religion when you see an opportunity to attack. That's acting like a snake in the grass.

It's simple...this is the only night they are asked to wear something that goes against their religious beliefs. Again, it's not that deep. If you had to wear a Pro Life badge you would likely want to do something that showed that I'm wearing this but "fyi, my views are different" that what I'm presenting. That's it. You can choose to be offended but at the end of the day I think them wearing the hat and writing a small verse next to it (which is not even remotely hateful) was their way of compromising. I'll wear the rainbow hat and the rainbow has significant to me in a different way. There is a great book called "Unoffendable" and I think of it often. Life is filled with way more joy if we don't go around thinking the worst of people and intentionally choose not to be offended by things. At the end of the day Christian guys were wearing a rainbow hat on Pride Night. They are great guys, teammates, and are thankful for ALL of the fans, even if their beliefs aren't identical.

@Senor_Chickles @armstrongtimes I'll just say the writing of the verse seems performative as they only seem to do it during June. Its almost like their values only surface during Pride month.

@Senor_Chickles @armstrongtimes I actually agree that if they chose to wear nothing its their choice, and I don't believe they should be dragged for it. That being said I'm not sure the backlash would've been as bad without the other hats. But I don't know.

@PatricePusey @armstrongtimes It makes no sense to have a cross on a hat either for faith and family night and I do understand that. I see no need to put the players in that position. They don't need to be forced to take a stand on social issues.

They wrote a tiny verse on a hat. They didn't stand on a street corner and yell at you. If you don't agree with them, then don't look up the verse and move on. For all you know, the verse could have been affirming. I don't agree with the Pride hats but I'd still look at them and go about watching the game like normal. It's really not that deep. But again, the guys who wore the normal hat have gotten absolutely roasted by people on social media. So the MLB has put them in a very bad position for no reason.

And the two players who wore a "regular" uniform, Sam Hentges and Blake Treinen have absolutely had their names drug through the mud over this. And that's not fair to them and it wouldn't be fair to you either in the circumstance I described above. It's perfectly ok to be kind to someone, disagree with them, and be able to co-exist without all of the vitriol.

@Senor_Chickles @armstrongtimes I wouldn't wear it, but I certainly wouldn't if I was wearing it, decide that imposing my religious beliefs on the uniform was appropriate. If I was able to wear the regular uniform that's what I'd do.

Absolutely not. I offered a very clear solution that addressed "human rights" and avoids all of this controversy. Have Pride Night, give away rainbow hats, etc. I 100% think anyone and everyone should be able to go to and enjoy a baseball game. Gay, straight, black, white, Muslim, Christian, etc. I love baseball and want everyone to enjoy it! But why on earth does the LGBTQ community need affirmation from the people actually playing in the game? It makes ZERO sense.

Why do you need professional baseball players to dress up in a certain hat for your rights to be affirmed? Haha....that's insane. I'd like the rights of the unborn addressed and immediately want everyone to wear a Pro Life badge tonight otherwise they are full of hate and malice!!! I don't care if they think differently....if they don't do it then they hate babies and are horrible people.

@matpugkinz I agree with you in theory but that player (Sam Hentges) and another player (Blake Treinen) have been absolutely roasted on social media for just wearing the regular hats. Search for each of them and let me know if you think it was really "less of an issue" for them.

@Senor_Chickles From my understanding, another player on the team opted to not wear the hat. So they could have simply not participated and it would have been less of an issue.
