@thatdenverguyYT Turns out you can just have kids and everything works out!
English

I always say there are two things that change a YouTuber: 1) buying a house that is way too expensive and 2) having kids. One for the worse and one for the better.
Some YouTubers put off having kids but I'm going to warn you guys, that's a mistake. I did YouTube with kids and now I do my own business with kids and they are everything. I was scared, I felt like I wasn't ready, I was scared it would slow the business down. But life becomes 100x better, you get more efficient, and everything you do has more purpose to it.
Chase those dreams and goals but remember no amount of money and fame will ever fill that gap that only God and family can fill. I totally get there are people who can't and obviously you make your own choices with your life, all I can do is say that I've lived both lives and I personally see this one is way better. Please don't take this as a holier-than-thou thing, you do what you want to do, but just don't be afraid to become a mom or dad because it might get in the way of YouTube and business. It won't and you'll be great, even better one might argue!

One of the obvious signs that someone is in over their head is that they set and miss near term deadlines.
“I’ll get that to you before EOD.”
“Give me 2 hours.”
And they just completely miss them.
It’s a sign that:
* The have a deep misunderstanding of their ability to get things done given their workload
* They don’t understand how to manage stakeholders (and maybe succumb to peer pressure/saying what they think people want to hear).
All major red flags for performance.

After 6 months of watching engineers use coding agents, I found the most productive users have something in common
The best ones use what I call "Socratic mode"
Instead of just telling the agent what to do, they start with questions that force it to load the right files and actually understand the abstractions. They keep going (and correcting the agent) until they're confident both they and the agent understand the shape of the problem and the goals
The benefit here is that instead of guessing at a plan upfront, you're helping both yourself and the agent truly understand the codebase first before starting to make any changes
By the time you ask it to do something, all the context is already "built" and the path forward is clear

He's finding funding mechanisms for things he wants to do outside of congresses control. Fascinating.

Dumb take just save money now so you can feel accomplished *IF* this does happen
David Scott Patterson@davidpattersonx
If you won’t retire within the next 5 to 10 years, there is no need to save money for retirement. Everyone will receive a universal high income (UHI), which will be worth 10 to 100 times more than the average salary today.
