I’d get hot honestly. And yes. I competed in Ironmans since 2002. It’s more than doable with all that gear, like come on.

@mattmpls33 @farawaydeployed @jmbfn @MorbidKnowledge Suuuuuure ya did. I spent years as a water survival trainer for the Marine Corps. In tip top shape. 80 degree water. Normal weather. Exposure is setting in 8-10 hrs. Way less for dehydration and exhaustion if your swimming EVEN slowly for that long. Water was likely below 80 btw

And def ain’t swimming in an oven for 2 days in a dry suit. You will die from exposure. I honestly don’t think you’ve ever been outside

@Sir_Chill_ @farawaydeployed @jmbfn @MorbidKnowledge Wet suits. So no to body temp dropping, and no not days. Like 10-14hrs only at 3mph with massive diving flippers and masks and wetsuits. Very doable, I’m not being silly. Flippers are a huuuge help and buoyancy from wetsuit. If they were quasi in shape it’s doable. Painful yes.

@Waldo089 @MorbidKnowledge Bout 38+ miles from shore. With botany wetsuit and flippers. Ave 3-6mph swimming. Be home for popcorn and a movie in 10-13hrs. 🤝 Honestly, it’s actually doable in all that gear. Just saying….unless eaten alive first. 🤷‍♂️🦈

It would take days of non stop swimming to even be close to shore. You can’t do that. Professional athletes can’t do that. Your body temp drops at night go into hypo. Genius

@farawaydeployed @jmbfn @MorbidKnowledge Yes I have. I’ve swam in pacific, Atlantic, Philippine sea, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. And yes, they were estimated to be upwards of 38+ miles from shore. So use the f-ing sun or stars/moon and start swimming. They had flippers for gods sake!!!
