I've tried very hard to contain my anger with this latest atrocity. If some of it has bled through, I apologize.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re Republican or Democrat.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re moderate or hardcore.
This transcends everything we claim to believe about governance, decency, and competence.
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been parading a sudden “kinder, gentler” rebrand — apologizing for “toxic politics,” talking about unity, even invoking kindness. That pivot is a lie. And HR 3492 proves it.
Her bill passed the House on December 17, 2025 (216–211) — without hesitation, without restraint. It criminalizes gender-affirming medical care for trans minors, making doctors and parents felons. Puberty-delaying medication. Hormone treatment. Medically indicated procedures. All redefined as crimes.
Penalties: up to a decade or more in prison.
Even traveling across state lines to obtain lawful, prescribed care exposes families to felony risk.
This is not “protection.” It is punishment.
Every major medical authority in the United States — including the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics — recognizes this care as evidence-based and, for some patients, life-saving, with strong data showing reduced suicide risk among distressed youth. Greene ignores all of it and shouts “mutilation.”
Here’s the tell:
Her bill explicitly exempts the exact same medical procedures when performed on cisgender children — children whose gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth. Breast reductions. Hormonal treatment to slow unusually early puberty. Same medicine. Same doctors.
Only one group is targeted.
Now the contrast that should stop everyone cold.
For fifteen years, Republican leadership has promised an alternative to the Affordable Care Act. Since 2009. They’ve held majorities. They’ve had White Houses. They’ve had endless chances.
They have produced nothing.
And now, with enhanced ACA subsidies set to expire in days, more than 20 million Americans are facing steep premium hikes and coverage loss during inflation. Congress left town. No fix. No urgency. Families are about to be hit — hard.
Yet this bill?
This bill sails through immediately, on party lines, without delay.
So let’s be unmistakably clear:
I am NOT advocating unnecessary surgery.
I am NOT promoting “turning children transgender.”
I am NOT endorsing anything reckless or mutilative.
That caricature is propaganda, merely another of trump's endless library of rubbish talking points meant ONLY to make you angry over nothing that truly exists — and it is deliberately used to justify cruelty.
What I am saying is simple:
Criminalizing families and physicians for following established medical standards — while simultaneously refusing to govern on healthcare for millions — is moral rot.
I’ve seen this kind of state cruelty before. It always dresses itself up as “protection.” And it always turns out to be predation, aimed at a politically convenient minority while real problems are ignored.
If you think Marjorie Taylor Greene has softened, read the bill.
If you think this is about children’s safety, ask why identical care is legal for some kids and felonies for others.
If you think this is governance, ask why punishment moves faster than solutions.
This isn’t a rebrand.
It’s the mask slipping.
