A little story about the living situation my daughter used to be in. Last June, she had a fall and broke her femur. She had surgery. A rod placed up her femur and into her hip. She spent 4 days in the hospital. When she was discharged, she went back to living with her dad and his mom in a 1-bdrm trailer on a property where her grandpa also lives. The trailer had 4 steps to get up to the front door, and there was no railing. As she was recovering from surgery, she couldn't get up and down the stairs without assistance. Her dad and grandpa are both structural steel welders by trade. They've done a lot of construction and metal works in the lifetime. Their property has piles of scrap wood and metal. Since she never had assistance from anyone, she asked her dad to build a simple railing so she could at least get up and down the stairs to go outside. He never did. A few months later, he hurt his back and had to wear a back brace for a little while. The day after he hurt his back, guess what was installed on the stairs? A railing. That's what happens when you live with a narcissist who only cares about themselves. I've been there done that. It's one of the many reasons why I divorced him.
