I’m grateful for @RepLoriTrahan taking time to listen to our concerns and hope that we can continue the conversation for how to most effectively help the Ukrainian people!

When the Russian invasion began, the bitter feeling of being completely unable to help my friends in Ukraine was debilitating. I never imagined that the an effort to help my homeland would bring me to the office of my congressional representative.

@SereenSAssi1 Sereen, thank you for your words of support. I wholeheartedly agree. Perhaps it’s my unwillingness to truly give up on the hope of action that makes this even more painful.

@TTsinman I have long given up on action following those sentiments and I can only confirm that the West can describe many atrocities in the most eloquent statements of ‘condemnation’ followed by inaction. The most barbaric historic genocides were once ‘too complex’ or even ‘controversial’

It has been a devastating 2 weeks for Ukraine. For my dear friends. As an American, it has been equally devastating to see the US shy away from key steps that could help Ukraine in a time of desperate need. I realize that not everyone may agree, but this is how I feel👇

..."The “never again” moment is happening now, and the West is failing to prevent it." Read that last part again. In my opinion, history is repeating itself. I desperately don't want to believe that the world has so easily forgotten its recent past. #NoFlyZone #StopPutinNOW

All I can do is hope with every fiber of my being that my loved ones are safe and that those who are able to do something about this do more than just watch. #Ukraina #UkraineCrisis

It’s where I was born and partially grew up. Some of my dearest friends live there. Hearing from them that they have no way to leave and are scared about their future is heartbreaking. Having no way to help is devastating. The sheer fact that this is happening is infuriating.
