Nobody is skeptical of autonomous elevators because nobody alive today was even around to see a human elevator operator in real life before the last one got laid off. Automation is far safer.

During his Palm Sunday message yesterday, Pope Leo XIV said: "(Christ) does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them." As a blanket statement, this is EXPLICITLY heterodoxical. We know from the Scriptures that Moses prayed and received victory in war, as did several Israelite kings such as David. In fact, whole chunks of the Psalms -- when David prayed for wartime victory over his enemies -- would now be in error according to Pope Leo XIV. Then there's the fact when Christ returns it will be with a robe dipped in blood and a sword in His mouth. But I'm sure that's merely decorative. Ironically, the best thing this pope accomplished with his hippy dippy Palm Sunday message is confirm my belief in Sola Scriptura. But let's take it further and look at this from an explicitly Catholic perspective. This would also be a repudiation of the history of the Catholic Church this pope presides over, which several times righteously went to war to preserve itself and the West. Which we should all still be thankful for today. For example, Pope Pius V attributed his legendary victory over the Ottomans (Muslims) in 1517 (the very year Martin Luther sparked the Protestant Reformation) to the Rosary prayers of the faithful HE INSTRUCTED to pray. And that victory was considered such a supernatural miracle of prayer, that Pope Pius V was later sainted. I'm sure the Ottomans were repelled without any bloodshed. This from this pope is not a Christian sentiment in any way, shape, or form but a ridiculously hippy and worldly one. The kind of stuff fools who pray over blocks of ice and visit climate conferences think and say. And to ironically drop it in a message on the day Christ is welcomed to Jerusalem as the "son of David" -- who prayed many of those answered wartime prayers to God -- is especially revolting. Perhaps this pope should research if God answers the prayers of heretics?

@JennMGreenberg It’s silly. I don’t believe she was a virgin when she had Jesus either. The story of an unwed woman giving birth to the savior was whitewashed by the judgey men who wrote about it later.

I never understood the purpose of this doctrine. Obviously Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, but why must she remain perpetually so? Especially when the Bible talks about Jesus’s brothers. She was married to Joseph and sex within marriage is good, not sinful.

The concept of Mary being a perpetual virgin didn't appear until roughly 300 years after she died. Until that point the early church accepted Mary as she was presented by those who knew her personally. For example the testimony of her neighbors in Nazareth, who Matthew recorded as saying "Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren’t all his sisters with us?" The historian Josephus writes of the high priest Ananus: “...so he assembled the sanhedrim of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, and some others; and when he had formed an accusation against them as breakers of the law, he delivered them to be stoned.” There is no indication that the Apostles and Josephus believed current Catholic dogma about Mary being a virgin forever.

The Church of England died long ago. All that's left are the paid actors like Charles III, who play their roles with no true heart for God. Jesus will awaken some of them, as He has done for centuries. The rest will fall into judgement, as the earth is reborn and Christ is crowned for eternity.

One reason Islam is thriving in England. Also the Dean of Canterbury who says "Let us greet..." is openly gay. Whatever this is, it's not historic Christianity. We must KNOW what we believe, and be willing to die for those beliefs. Think of the 21 Coptic martyrs. This is not that.

The SAVE America Act requires proof of citizenship to register to vote, but there are several ways to prove citizenship besides a birth certificate. Losing a birth certificate doesn’t mean you lose your right to vote. Nevertheless, that’s the Left’s new marching orders.

In 1963 the Democrat governor of Alabama - George Wallace - tried and failed to stop the desegregation of schools by standing in the doorway of the auditorium at the University of Alabama as if to block the way of two Black students about to enter. The budget reconciliation approach to passing the Save America act is more risky than most people realize. The Byrd bath and parliamentarian aspects will be very difficult to overcome. Senators Thune, Kennedy and Mullin better have some trick up their sleeve that makes sense. If they do, they need to explain how it will work successfully.

DHS Secretary Mullin says reconciliation can be used to finally secure our elections as U.S. citizens have overwhelmingly demanded: “There’s nothing more important than the SAVE America Act. That’s what the American people want. 80% of the population say they want only Americans voting.”

Then could it legitimately be considered budgetary and be successful in reconciliation? Find a legitimate solution to ensure the popular SAVE America Act passes and becomes law. Every senator will soon be on the record with an up-or-down vote so the American people can know exactly where they stand on voter ID. I don’t know how Democrats will be able to explain being against commonsense voter ID requirements, but I can’t wait to hear them try.
