How you feel about something is entirely down to you and you alone. Offence is a feeling, not a fact. Like Ricky Gervais said: “just because you feel offended by something, doesn’t make you right.” I suggest you grow up and stop crying over something that really doesn’t impact your life in any meaningful way.

The road near me has cheap England flags limply tied to lampposts at half mast for the first time. I never had any issue with my national flag before it was co-opted by National Front racists. Now it feels like a fucking swastika to me and that’s THEIR doing.

Possibly for the first time ever, I agree with you. If people want electric cars, and the charging times and new vehicle costs come down adequately, then they will buy them without it being mandated on them. Too many net zero targets are arbitrary and place unnecessary financial pressures on manufacturers and retailers, which ultimately manifest as price rises for consumers. I also agree the taxpayer should not be subsidising heat pump installations. Again, if the public want them, they will buy into them organically. The need to drive consumer confidence should drive improvements in green innovation, which will be delayed if the government continues to subsidise substandard technologies.

This is the right thing to do. The EV revolution is well underway, it’s an unstoppable force now, economics make it so - for people looking for a new car - and remember that’s a very tiny proportion of us. It makes no sense to force manufacturers into economic difficulty for the sake of an arbitrary date and arbitrary percentages. Keir Starmer has been pragmatic on this. Net Zero is being weaponised, demonised anyway - we don't need to throw fuel on that fire. Acknowledge the concerns, add slack to the targets - take away the issue. Move on. Now take back the heat pump subsidy pot of £3 billion and put it to actual good use..:) thetimes.com/uk/transport/a…

Knife crime in London has increased 50% during your tenure. That’s not disinformation, it’s abject failure on your part to keep London residents safe. You can spend as much taxpayers money as you want trying to cover it up, but facts don’t lie. Perhaps focus on dealing with the problem rather than trying to pull the wool over people’s eyes.

@ZackPolanski Because climate change is a uniquely London-centric phenomenon? Perhaps you should both stop virtue-signalling over questionable science, and focus on things that actually matter to Londoners… like tackling the escalating crime epidemic that Sadiq Khan has presided over.

I don’t believe in privatisation without genuine free market competition (which we don’t have in our water industry). But… We simply cannot afford the cost of nationalising the water industry, or the astronomical cost of upgrading the water network, which the taxpayer will have to fund if we bring it back into state ownership. You cannot promote a policy of nationalisation, without explaining how this will be paid for (which will cost in excess of £100bn, btw!). So which services does Zack Polanski suggest we cut in order to fund this?

@Heccles94 “Fight capitalism” 🙄 grow up you numpty. If you really think living in a communist society is better, then move to China or North Korea. Only student activists who have never lived in the real world say things like “fight capitalism”.

So the taxpayer can pick up the bill, not just for a total share repurchase at a regulatory capital value of approx £19billion… but then for the potentially hundreds of £billions it will cost to repair and upgrade the outdated and dilapidated piping network??! Where’s that money coming from, Jezza? Which services would you propose cutting to pay for the cost of nationalisation?

Soaring bills. Burst pipes. Sewage in our rivers and seas. How many more times do we need to say it: the privatisation of water has been a total and utter failure. Bring it back into public ownership, now.

@narindertweets And nothing says ‘jealous, unrealistic, bitter and living on another planet’ more than expecting the future king to attend a comprehensive. And why exactly is Prince George supposed to be representative of the working class??

Prince George should be attending a state school. No question about it! Nothing says 'out of touch' quite like sending your child to Eton. A school for the privileged few, producing generation after generation of entitled elites. He's meant to be a future king- how is Eton representative of the working class??!

@SeddSezz Superb idea. However, won’t they face the same problems we have with the ECHR blocking the deportation of migrants from “unsafe” countries? What will their solution be in such instances, or do they have a 3rd party country willing to take them (like we should have had)?

Sweden passes law allowing migrants to be deported for non-criminal bad behaviour Migrants will be deported for non-criminal conduct such as tax debts, illegal work, tax evasion, benefits fraud or extremist links. Sweden can now revoke residence permits and deport legal immigrants without a specific criminal charge. Such cases will be evaluated by the Swedish Migration Agency. Common sense law that should be implemented here in Britain too.

Your short-sighted legislation has made being a landlord a quagmire of bureaucracy and regulation. Record numbers selling up, which will lead to a shortage of rental accommodation, exacerbated by the relocation of illegal migrants to HMOs, and ultimately will push rents up. 👏👏

Keir Starmer is a delusional f*cktard. The ban in Australia has been ineffectual, with 70%+ of kids able to circumvent it using tech and/or fake accounts. The same will happen here. Does he realise many of the youngsters he is p*ssing off with his pointless gesture politics will be old enough to vote his party out at the next election? Or perhaps he’s self-aware enough to know that will be Andy Burnham’s problem, not his.
