Packard deserves most of the credit but people should really thank Jay Overton and yours truly over a quarter century ago. Jay truly believed da COPPERHEAD co I ld host a major. It was that good. It was my first real superintendent job and interned the year before. Jay took a shine to me when he wasn't yelling at me. He would pick me up with a couple beers and we would build tees and bunkers and move trees and paths. It was cray cray pace. We did greens irrigation in house 18 holes in 21 days and took 3 days off. We planted washed TifEagle sod from California on California greens mix, meaning there were no ammendments just straight sand. The sod trucks were supposed to be refrigerated and came at all hours of the night. On 15th hole below the refrigerator in the truck broke in Mississippi and the driver showed up at 8:30pm. The grass was full of pythium mycelium and flys feasting on the dying turf. I decided to plant it anyway. The sod install company quit the entire job. 4 of us worked until the wee hours planting 15 green, sprayed the grass for the disease. It turned out as one of the finest greens we had. Also the in house sodding turned out way better on subsequent greens. Grow-ins and construction are full of untold stories. da COPPERHEAD and @GolfSugarloaf were movie worthy experiences for this primate.

More #nichegrass in cold Central Georgia looking pretty sweet. Bimini looking good on the foreground as well. If you get a chance you should check out TS Specialty Products plant in Georgia. Dude are building products that will help the aliens in space be envious of your turf

Another beautiful morning at #OldeFloridaGolfClub, the day after our Club Championship, which marked the final tournament of the season. Very thankful for our team, for the support of our members, and for the opportunity to care for this special place each and every day!

Early spring can leave bermuda and zoysia low on energy, and too much top growth too soon only adds stress. This program helps support the transition from cold to warm weather: buff.ly/2G5KnAM.

My favorite muni, Clearwater County Club staying minty whilst just slaying golf rounds since pitchers and catchers showed up. Even tees are responding to weekly plant health programs (pic1). Who says i don't support topdressing greens. 300 plus rounds daily with no one fixing ball marks you have to do something.

Armament lasts 90–120 days in the soil. So, one application boosts efficiency across this round, the next, and even the one after that, building a reserve of plant-available nutrients that turfgrass can use all season.
