The Pentagon confirmed Friday. A full brigade combat team and a long-range fires unit. Gone within 6 to 12 months. Trump told reporters Saturday the cuts will go “a lot further” than 5,000. Defense Secretary Hegseth ordered the drawdown after a Pentagon review of U.S. posture in Europe. America has subsidized European security since 1945. Why keep 36,000 troops in a country whose chancellor called Washington’s handling of Iran humiliating?

I’m sitting here watching the calendar flip into May, and I can’t shake the pit-of-my-gut feeling that keeps coming up every time Washington packs its bags and heads out the door. Another freakin’ recess. Another recess where nothing moves. Another round of excuses. The last time they did it, they left TSA employees hanging. At the time, Senate Majority Leader, John Thune had the gall to bypass TSA mile-long security lines while traveling. Yeah, the optics are terrible. Elitist. Privileged. Not one of us. And while Senators are packing their bags to go, sitting right there… STALLED… is the desired-by-80%-of-Americans SAVE America Act. This Act is basic. It’s foundational. It’s essential to our country’s future. It says if you want to register to vote in a federal election, you must prove you are a citizen. A passport. A birth certificate. Something that confirms you belong in the process. The House passed it back in February. A razor-thin vote, 218 to 213. Every Republican lined up. Indicted conspirator David Morens gave advice on how to circumvent federal records laws to his co-conspirator 1, Peter Daszak, via his co-conspirator 2, Gerald Keusch, whereby that advice came directly from Fauci, who has not yet been formally named as a co-conspirator but this email leaves little doubt that he was. At this point, it would be reckless not to indict Fauci and sort out the status of his autopen pardon later when he raises it as a defense. Get everything on the record and then see where the chips fall.
