@MrsDrSarah Beauty is you can observe gills at lots of scales to understand multiplayer effect of increasing surface area. Used to enjoy using them as a model for countercurrent effect when teaching post 16s. Great microscope images!

@ViciaScience Yeah, it's the first time we've looked at them down the microscope, normally just look at whole organ structure. I've got an amazing fishmonger in my local town who gave us 30 salmon heads to dissect!

@Prof_GD_Foster one of my next topics with my A level class is plant disease which invariably gets groaned at as a topic but I want them to find it interesting & embrace it as an important topic so…. Which plant disease are scientists most concerned about at the moment? Why?
