Considering the pitch they produced at the MCG it sounds like the perfect preparation Not to mention Australia picking Michael Neser who got loads of wickets in... Division 2 And this idea that pitches are green tops in April is false. Just look at the scores
M. J. C.@mnine1

@ViewfromtheBpod Yes because getting wickets on a green top in very early April against very average div 2 opposition is just like bowling at the MCG in the Ashes isn't it..........get a grip FFS

Jason Kerr after D2: “Intriguing. I’ve never seen us go past the bat here so many times without taking the edge Craig and Miggy particularly were superb with the ball A lot of credit to Haynes & Clarke who absorbed a lot of pressure” #SomvNotts #CountyChamp #countycricket

@ViewfromtheBpod To want to get younger is completely fine but forcing someone of his quality to just retire is pretty ridiculous. You don’t have to play him every game but don’t completely shut the door on him

If weather plays ball good chance for Notts to try and force a win You'd hope they wouldn't lose from here with Somerset having to bat again then take another 10 wickets If we get a lead I hope we hit the accelerator as it won't be easy second time around to bowl them out

Last season Hameed was bowled or LBW 9 times and caught 9 times Being dismissed nearly 50% of the time (there was a run out) from deliveries hitting the stumps seems a little high for a Test opener That percentage was also higher in 2024 For Slater it was 8 and 15 last year

Interesting chat on comms about Slater and England Pros: Consistency and ability to score tough runs (see Surrey last year and carrying his bat against Anderson) Cons: Lack of hundreds and age I do feel his technique might stand up more at Test level than perhaps Hameed's
