What exactly were those promised conditions? The IRGC and Basij are being killed en masse. But the real fight is going to be block by block, not some magical overnight revolution where the hardliners just give up. The Iranian people are going to have to be willing to fight and die on a scale they can't conceive to win their freedom from the regime. Approximately 2% of the US colonists died fighting during the American Revolution over a period of years. That's equivalent to more than 1 million Iranians today on a per capita basis. It would be helpful if the Shah talked in these terms.

To leave the regime in power would be the worst outcome of all time, and the biggest failure. Regime change is victory.

Incorrect. In January the uprising was so massive that they literally spread the regime paper thin across 200+ cities. Literal cities were being overrun, so they had to import Iraqi militia’s to put down protests. What happens now when 15,000 IRGC + Basij targets have been liquidated, and Khamenei/Larijani are dead?

A free Bolachistan will want to unite with its Pakistan and Afghan components. Kurdistan and Azeris are the same. Turkey would not ignore a free Kurdistan. The Saudis would not ignore the opportunity. It would end with Pakistan and India fighting over Kashmir, and Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan and Azerbaijan going at each other. Iran functions as Yugoslavia. Keeping them apart by holding them together.

Iran is made up of many different states. It should be Balkanized. Change my mind.
