A CPS3 #arcade cart came in for service after suiciding due to a dead battery. It wouldn’t work after flashing the Darksoft UltraBIOS. I noticed missing solder next to the clock crystal, so I addressed that and now the cart works great! I wish all repairs went this smoothly. 😁

@STGshmups Gradius V is my favorite game of all time. It’s so good!

*Arguably* the last AAA shmup. It is possible people can mention R-Type Final2/3, but I digress (more of a personal opinion anyways). Having said that, Gradius manages a level of difficulty that’s borderline hilarious. Sometimes you just can’t help but laugh *with* the game.

Man #fuckcps2 also , during our ST tourney last Saturday one of the multi boards decide to crap out. Vertical lines no matter if you pressed or reseated would go away. Took it home and checked pins and all normal things and nothing. Now 13 buffers on the multi later fixed....

@Shakunetsu3S @RyanBracamonte @Sabre_AZ “Arcade-Perfect” will be the real long-term development challenge for an FPGA CPS3 considering that even the current CPS1 and CPS2 MiSTer cores have timing inaccuracies. I’m optimistic they’ll get perfect eventually though.

@RyanBracamonte @Sabre_AZ I've invested a lot to bring 3S on candy cabs to my local scene. I personally would be looking to use a CPS3 MiSTer core in those cabs. If done right it should be indistinguishable from the real thing. MiSTer also allows bypassing USB for zero latency controls.

It did not happen. This is not running on FPGA. This does not make 3rd Strike any more accessible to anybody and will have zero impact on the tournament scene. It is blatant misinformation. If you are confused please ask questions and I will answer.

I’m taking a short break from repairing #arcade boards to actually *play games* on them once in a while. Currently drilling Deathsmiles MBL, Dogyuun and Viewpoint for a monthly #shmup score competition.

Dodonpachi Saidaioujou clear (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ this is one of the hardest Cave games to 1CC, and it's been the shmup i've most wanted to clear for about a decade maybe? really happy to get this

LaserActive CLD-A100 up in here! It gets the usual: -Full recap with PSU trouble spot maintenance -CLD-AIO for RGB, S-Video and AC-3 audio output!

@leonkiriliuk Sounds awful. I have no advice but I hope you’re able to get it treated.

Some things I can't fix. Like the bilateral frozen shoulder I was diagnosed with in January. I now sleep 2-3h per night, in pain most of the day. I'm in it for 2+ years. Anyone deal with this before? Advice? Would consider flying to USA to undergo MUA surgery. 😬🥶

@SScorpio00 I looked at the schematics, but the first page is missing which has most of that stuff. I found RA5 which said something like 560 ohms.

Does anyone have a spare working 9-pin chip (memory I'm assuming) like the one circled for a Sega System 32 arcade PCB? I specifically need the one that goes in RA10 but I assume they're all the same and this one was easier to photograph.

Neo Geo CDZ top loader cps2digitalav install plus neo SD loader for @RanyBx . Also did Fram, this was an old install that would not boot. Eventually we got a new neo sd loader and if it worked fine

I helped a friend calibrate his Sony KV-36FV16 CRT today. The greypoint range dialed in nicely except for a tiny blip in the 0-10% IRE that barely matters. The geometry is also surprisingly good for a flat screen Sony!

X68000版Quake 一応デモが動くところまできた。 ポリゴンが欠けたり、ランダムでフリーズするのは現バージョンのXM6のFPU実装の可能性もあるんであとで確認するけど、68060 60MHzでも重すぎる。 効果は無いと思うけど、Quake 3の高速逆平方根アルゴリズムは取り入れた。 #X68000 #レトロPC

@MoonJellyKevin @ArcadePosting Yep, you only need one kick harness. Axunworks makes good products but they can take a long time to ship. I’ve known some folks that have waited 6-12 months. Just an FYI.

@_ShootTheCore @ArcadePosting I ended up buying an Axunworks power supply. It just seemed the least of a hassle. That being said, I'll purchase a kick harness shortly. I only need one, right?

So I bought my first arcade boards back in November, and since then, it's just been questions. I kind of understand scart. Good picture quality. I don't understand DB10 inputs. Either way: it's not common. It's reasonable to be like: why doesn't it come with the right plug??

@STGshmups @Lasership84 FWIW, I own Strania EX on Exa-Arcadia and on the title screen it says that it was published by Exa, not developed by them. Other titles like DDP SDOJ Exa specifically say “Developed by Exa Arcadia”.

@Lasership84 @_ShootTheCore Strania is more or less the exA version as far as I know. All exA titles will say they’ve been developed by their staff or in exclusivity to them.

It’s a shame we won’t be able to play the eXA version of Air Gallet for at least 5 years. The medal collecting for score is something I like in shmups. The changed weapon balance, the thunder drive system and the medal chaining score system make this version pretty distinct.
